More children!

Good morning blogland,

Did you notice Tuesday has rolled around again - and as it's been two weeks since the last time I was moaning about Tuesdays rolling around that means it's time for a new challenge over at Passion for Markers.  There's a difference though, this week it's my pick for the challenge!

Our lovely sponsor this week is All Dressed Up Stamps, with a great prize, and my pick for the challenge theme is 'For a child'.  Not the most adventurous pick I know - but ADU have the cutest stamps and I thought they go well on children's cards. The only other rules to follow are: use your markers and have fun!

I know I waffled on last time I did a 'for a child' challenge about tending to make boys cards - so I bucked the trend! I've deliberately chosen a sweet girlie image and the card is squarely aimed at little girls.  Not that I know any little girls to give the card to anymore - I only know moody, stroppy, argumentative teenaged girls :-)

My card:

 Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - Birthday Girl
coloured, as always (do I even need to say anymore?) with my Copics

Rubber stamps:
Catherine Pooler - All Around Wishes Sentiments
Woodware - Celebrating You

Dies:
Whimsy Stamps - Special Word Die
Pretty Posh Pink - Scallop Borders 1
un-branded stitched rectangle die set

Papers:
First Edition - Let's Celebrate

Anything else:
Mixture of flat backed glitter gems

Anything else to add?   Oh, yes - I flipped the digi, normally she's facing the other way but I felt it worked better for my layout to have her facing this way.

On a personal note, our trip round the local-ish Uni's continuing we made it to Loughborough last weekend but hopefully that's it for now.  TTT's not keen on going further afield to study and so we've covered the nearest Uni's to us, now it's time to sit / compare / contrast and think for a bit.

And that is it folks - until next time.

Hello - again!

Morning blogland,

Just a flyer of a post.  I realised last night that I've not posted the September New Release for All Dressed Up yet! Ooops!

So this image was released on the 7th and is called Autumn Fairy - how appropriate - and this is the card I made:

 Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - Autumn Fairy
coloured with my Copics

Dies:
Creative Expressions - Noble Collection: double stitched squares
Time for Tea Designs - Hey Hello Hi sentiment die set

Paper:
My Mind's Eye - On the Bright Side

Anything else:
Copic fineliner for doodling

And that's about it folks - I'm off to work in a little bit. The extension is still being worked on, the tiling is starting to look very good and I'll show progress pictures another day.  TTT is out at School (she was feeling under the weather earlier this week and stayed home) and him indoors is being, well 'im indoors!

Hope everyone is well.

Today's your day

 Good morning blogland,

It's a new month so it's also time for a new post and a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge, this month we'd like to see your creations with the theme of  'Dry/Wet Embossed' and our lovely sponsor for this challenge is All Dressed Up Stamps.

I ended up going with the dry embossing side of the challenge, can't honestly remember the last time I got either my heat gun or embossing powders out, but it still caused me no end of problems.  Got there eventually and this is my card:

Just keeping my hand in...

Hello blogland,

Keeping my hand in both in respect of blogging and colouring! I feel a bit like I've neglected both recently. Hoping to find some time to myself to colour soon, and then get back into blogging regularly.

Still on summer holidays here, got a trip to Lincoln on Tuesday, nothing else planned for a few days after though, so maybe will find time in the next week or so.  Starting to count down to GCSE day -  11 days and counting! Then final decisions on if it's 6th Form at TTTs' Grammar or another route.

So card - this one was going to have been for an ADU challenge, but it didn't work out.  Mostly because I accidentally used a retired image! Not so good when you're trying to encourage people to join in a challenge, eh!

So sharing it now for no reason other than fun!

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - So cool
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
taylored expressions - simple strips: friendship

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangle
taylored expressions - simple strips: asymmetrical
Julie Hickey - You're a star die set

Paper:
Basic Grey - Hey, luscious

Anything else:
glitter
sequins

That's about it really, really looking forward to Summer happening at some point! Probably not going to be until September and school's back, now is it! :-)

See you soon,
Sarah

Feeling my age a little

 Good morning blogland,

Well, this is a sort of 'hen's teeth' post - a card that I made for a person rather than a challenge! It's also the reason I'm starting to feel old. It's birthday season, yet again, for TTT and friends and this is the card I made for one of said friends.

It's the first birthday in her group who are all going to turn 16 this year. Which means, and this is what makes me feel even older, TTT is going to be 16 in June.  How old does that make me! Sigh A 'geriatric' mother from the outset!

We are in the whole preparing for GCSE's thing at the minute - early nights, revision, practice papers. TTT does appear to be 90% calm about it all and has good predicted grades, mostly 7s and 8s with a couple of 9s thrown in - with the odd 10% flare of temper.   Our biggest problem appears to be getting her to wake up on time to be on the bus, but on the whole going well. So fingers are crossed for after the Easter break when the exams start in earnest.

So I think that's enough waffle - here's the card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - Love my iPad (I can't find it in the shop to link - sorry!)
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamps:
Sentiment:
Whimsy Stamps - You're my Always ('today')
taylored expressions : simple strips - birthday

Dies:
taylored expressions : Simple Strips - asymmetrical

Papers:
DCWV - Glitter Stack
allsorts

Anything else:
Bit of ribbon
flatback gems
American Crafts thickers (for the numbers)

Aaaand, done!

Sarah

Passion for Markers - Week 682 - Birthday cards

Krafty Chicks Challenge - #656 - All Occasions

Fab 'n' Funky - #569 - Lots of layers

As You Like It - Favourite People or Critters. To be perfectly truthful I really just like colouring, so I'd happily colour people or critters but (and it's a big but!!) I do tend to people.  I will admit I'm odd because I love colouring hair and clothes! Weirdo, I know! ;-)

All buttons and bows

Good morning blogland

Firstly apologies to my Crafty Calendar Challenge Teamies - this post should have gone up yesterday at the start of March's challenge - no excuse other than I totally forgot. So I won't waffle on, but instead be short and to the point and get this published asap!

So, as you may have guessed after reading the apology above, it's the beginning of a new month and time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar.  This month the theme is 'Buttons / Bows' and we are sponsored by the lovely All Dressed Up Stamps - I do love Wendy's images and my Teamies have made some wonderful cards with the digis.  Here is my contribution:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up Stamp - A Time to Share
coloured with my Copics

Dies:
Creative Craft Products - Torn Edge Nestables
MFT / Die-namics - Button Border
Impression Obsession dies - small bow

Anything else:
Craftwork Cards - allsorts (paper pack)
sheer bow
random button
Craftwork Cards - paper pops

And that's it folks - I do hope you forgive me for this late post but please also head on over to the challenge to both admire my Teamies cards and pop in your own entry. There's a lovely prize on offer!

See you soon,
Sarah

Hello there

Good morning blogland

I'm here this morning with my DT inspiration card for this week's challenge over at Colour Crazy Craft Challenge - as always the theme is Anything Goes but please remember we are a colouring challenge so your entry needs to have some form of hand colouring on it somewhere.  We do not accept pre-coloured images.

Our sponsor this time is All Dressed Up Stamps and the DT were very kindly allowed to use a couple of very cute, as always, images for the challenge.  This is the one I picked and the card I made with it.

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - Little Treasure
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
Neat & Tangled - Hello there

Dies:
un-branded rectangle stitched die set
Pretty Pink Posh - Eyelet borders and Hello Friend script

Anything else:
Some ages old brads
Yellow dotty card

I had thought this image / card could be either a new baby card (where you don't previously know the gender) or a 'hello friend' type thing - but at the end of the day the image is just super cute and I loved colouring it!

I do hope you get time to pop over to the challenge and see the wonderful cards my Teamies have created and maybe pop in one of your own while your there - as long as it's got some colouring on it, you're in!

Be back soon,
Sarah

More summer!

Good afternoon blogland,

I'm here this afternoon with a very exciting bit of new - yes even more! I've been accepted onto the Facebook ADU group Design Team for All Dressed Up Stamps

I've used ADU digis for many years, to the point that I was on their Blog DT waaaay back (around 2014), then when I had my crafting crisis I, obviously, resigned from all my DTs and crafting in general.  I was so pleased to see when I re-discovered my love of colouring and making cards, that ADU were still here (so many of my other favourite stamp companies have disappeared) and Wendy's digis have been a steady source of lovely images to colour ever since.  So when I saw there was a DT call on their Facebook page, I took the plunge and applied - I only got picked! Whheeeyyy-heey!!

The Facebook challenge is a themed monthly one - obviously though with only All Dressed Up images allowed! I would encourage anyone who is on Facebook to come join the Group and have a go.  There are some free digis on the All Dressed Up blog, so if you don't have any digis you can still join in.  Although, I think if you went and looked at the Etsy shop, you'd very easily be tempted to buy some of the super sweet images!

Obviously I'm not the only person who was picked and I'd like to say a huge Congrats to the other new members of the Team and I'm so happy to be working with a wonderful set of creative ladies who all understand the All Dressed Up obsession!

Here is my first inspiration card - the theme this month is 'Holidays (All Seasons)'.  I went with Summer Holidays as that's on the horizon for us as TTT breaks from School in two weeks or so - gulp!

Supplies Used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - Festival Lily
coloured with my Copics
the sentiment I created myself.

Patterned paper:
First Edition - Summer Breeze

Dies:
Creative Expressions - Noble Collection : Double Stitched Squares

Anything Else?
An MDF flower
Self-Adhesive pearls

So I'll sign off by saying that if you fancy popping over to Facebook and joining in there's a warm welcome waiting and we'd love to have you!

Signing off for now,
Sarah

It's June!

Good morning blogland,

It's the first Saturday of the month - which means it's also time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge, with the theme being a simple Anything Goes ones and we are sponsored by the always adorable All Dressed Up Stamps.

The Design Team were going to be allowed to pick a stamp to use, but I already have quite a few (ahem! - read 'a lot') of these digis so I went with one I already have.

This is my card:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamp:
All Dressed Up - Amore
Coloured with my Copics

Dies:
Un-branded stitched rectangle die
Whimsy Zig Zag Edger -for the spotty paper
Not sure on the frame around the image as it came out of my box of scraps

Anything else:

white gel pen for highlights

I do hope you will find time to pop over to the blog and admire my Teamies projects, they are - as always - fabulous! And with an easy going theme I fully expect to see lots of you joining in, which means I will get to admire lots of  wonderful projects on my commenting rounds!

A G-llama-rous day!

Good morning blogland,

Apologies for being absent again this week - it's just been one of those weeks that has flown by with not much opportunity for crafting. Hopefully next week will be different!

Today, however, there is a new challenge on the Colour Crazy Craft Challenge blog and I'm joining in with a DT inspiration, even though it's not officially my turn. I had to join in when I saw the super cute images that our wonderful sponsor, All Dressed Up Stamps, were allowing the Design Team to play with - I've never coloured a Llama before!

As always the challenge theme is Anything Goes but please remember that we are a colouring challenge, so there does need to be some hand coloured part of your entry.

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up Stamps - Llama
coloured with my Copics
Sentiment created in Word

Dies:
Un-branded stitched rectangle die
Pretty Pink Posh - Scalloped Borders One

I did actually use some patterned paper on this card, but it's so hidden it's not even worth mentioning! I tried doing an interesting spaced die-cut thing to create a border - total fail! I don't know where my brain was at but it wasn't working out where to use a die, so the paper got totally hidden. Although I have to say I did actually like the end effect even if it wasn't intentional.

That's it from me today folks,
Signing off,
See you soon.

Game on!

 Good morning blogland!

Oh my, I've neglected you for a week - I'm so sorry! It's not that I wasn't interested in crafting but the first week of TTT going back to school always ends up being full of catching up on all the things (mostly housework!) that were neglected while she's on holidays so I don't get much crafting time. I'm all caught up now, so you can expect normal service to resume.

Talking of normal service, it's time for the first challenge of 2022 for Crafty Calendar Challenge and to start the year off we have a super easy Anything Goes theme.  The Design Team were given digital stamps to use from the wonderful All Dressed Up Stamps and my pick was Gaming Boy.

This is my card:

Supplies Used:

Digital Stamp:
All Dressed Up - Gaming Boy
coloured with Copics

Anything else:
My Favorite Things - Die-namics Stacking Stars
Un-branded stitched rectangle dies
Anna Marie Designs - dotty card

What I did:
Re-sized the stamp and added a sentiment in Word then printed on Copic friendly paper, coloured the image in with my Copics and then die-cut him out with one of the un-branded dies.
I then cut another rectangle and stacking stars die from the dotty card.
Mounted the image onto the dotty card, then arranged the stars in a pattern I liked and added the whole panel, with 3d foam squares, onto a Kraft card blank.
et voila, job done!

Why not pop over to the blog and have a look at the lovely cards my Teamies have made, you won't be disappointed!  You'll no doubt find me popping up on some of your blogs as well having a look at your entries to the challenge!

A card round-up

Good evening blogland,

Back again now all the festivities are over - I truly hope all those of you who celebrate Christmas had a lovely day and those of you who don't had the best day possible and to those of you who (like me) just get through it I really do truly wish that you got over rough ground as lightly as possible.

Ours was, as always, a very quiet time - we went over friends house Christmas eve evening and then we three spent the day very quietly at home.

Some very happy gift exchanging happened and I've spent the last couple of days transferring data / files / etc from old phone and lap-top to new phone and lap-top.  I think I'm there and all gadgets appear to be working ok.  I also got a new pen case to accommodate my ever growing Copic pen collection and a very professional looking light-box so hopefully I'll no longer have to chase the light around the house when taking pictures of my cards.

Talking of cards, here are the last few that I made - wonder if you can guess which are mine and hubby's to TTT?? Oh, and the card I made for TTT's boyfriend is in the mix as well.

I won't do individual 'this is what I did' as it will make for an extremely long blog post (even longer than I've already made it!) so just listing relevant products used.

Whimsy Stamps - Penguins decorate the tree
Paper - First Edition : Artic Wonder
Various dies

Copic colouring following My Creative Scoop lessons
Random sentiment stamp

Lili of The Valley - Jasmine Christmas Presents
Sweet November Stamps - for the sentiment
Distress Inks and Mica Spray for the background

All Dressed Up - Christmas Couple
Random Christmas sentiment stamp
Snowflake punch

All Dressed Up - Christmas Baubles
Random sentiment
Glitter
Pretty Pink Posh die

I believe, apart from the odd card made with a die, that's all my Christmas cards blogged. Now I will put that behind me and move onto other occasions.

See you soon,
Signing off,
Sarah

Summer Fairy, or maybe not!

Hello blogland,

Been quiet again this week on the old bloggy blog while it's been half-term in real life - I wonder if the two could be related?

All I managed craft wise was to finish off one card from last week and then made a one new one this week to join in with a couple of challenges.

I'll share the other card next week, but this one I need to get on the blog to join in with challenges that finish first.  The image is called Summer Fairy, but I thought what's in a name - she doesn't need to be a 'Summer' fairy and why not colour her in cooler 'Winter' colours.

So card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - Summer Fairy
coloured with Copics
Rubber stamp:
taylored expressions - Simple Strips : Birthday

Die:
taylored expressions -  Simple Strips : Well Rounded

Anything else:
Meiflower - heart embellishments

What I did:
Printed the digi stamp on Copic friendly paper and coloured her in.
Cut the image panel to fit my DL card base and glued it down.
Glued on the heart embellishments.
Stamped and die-cut the sentiment, added 3d foam to the back of it and added to the panel.

et voila, job done!

These pictures are for my bloggy friend, and are the new 'toys' I brought at the Harrogate stamp show last weekend.  Here you go, Susan, new stash pictures!

That's it for now, will be back after the weekend - hope you all have a good one!

If I was only a little organised!

I'd have joined in with my opposite Team Teamies on the new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' today, but I'm not so I'm not!

Good afternoon blogworld,

I had a little time today, in-between endless rounds of loading the washing machine, and really felt like showing my Copics some love.  If I'd done this earlier in the week I would've joined in as above but nope - not that organised! Don't let my dis-organisation put you off though - pop over and see what they are up to!

I still did an Autumn style colour - as I've seen a few challenges with that theme - and I don't colour brown or orange very often and I do like to mix things up occasionally.

Here is the end product of a little Copic love:

Products used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - Little Autumn Girl 3
Background is freehand.
All coloured with Copics

Sentiment:
Computer generated

Anything else:
Red card

What did I do?
In a Word document flipped and re-sized the digi image to suit my card blank (5x5" square).
Had an internet search for a sentiment / phrase / saying that caught my eye, typed one I liked into the Word document and re-sized / played around with fonts until I was happy with how it all looked.

Printed off the panel onto Copic friendly paper and coloured in!

Cut the coloured panel to a suitable size, mounted it onto red card, trimmed that to fit the card blank and then glued the finished panel onto my card blank.

et voila, job done!

I'm not sure what the next subject is, but rest assured it will probably be a card!!

Hope you are all having good weekends and see you here next week.

Signing off,
Sarah

As You Like It: Favourite - Circles or Squares (and why).  I'm a square girl (not even a square peg in a round hole - just squares!!). I think you might guess that from all the recent projects - maybe sometimes a rectangle - but there's something about a square card that is just right for me! Even though I'm a terror for getting every straight lines going wonky - I still come back to a 5x5 or 6x6 square card.

How exciting!

 Good morning blogworld,

I have some exciting news:

I was recently asked by the very kind Sue to join the DT of  Crafty Calendar Challenge and, obviously otherwise I wouldn't be writing this post, I very gratefully accepted! I'm not entirely sure Sue and the other DT ladies know what they've let themselves in for with all my chat!

Here's my first challenge as part of the DT:

The theme of our challenge this month is 'Anything Goes' and we are sponsored by the fabulous Wendy Burns of  All Dressed Up

And here's my card for my Inaugural Challenge as a Crafty Calendar Girl:

 Supplies:

Stamps:
Digital Image:
All Dressed Up - I Love My Puppy
coloured with Copics

Rubber Sentiment Stamp:
Whimsy Stamps - Fantabulous

Dies:
Creative Expressions - Noble collection: double stitched squares

Anything else:
MDF embelishment from Anna Marie Designs
pearls from my stuff

What I did:
Printed out the Digital Stamp onto Copic friendly paper, coloured her and
created a background (following a video on Delphine's Stamp & Colour YouTube channel).
Die-cut this out and mounted onto another die-cut panel of card.
Mounted both those onto a 6x6 card blank.
Affixed a embellishment in the top right corner and pearls in the bottom left.
et voila

My new Teamies have created some wonderful inspiration and I do hope you will come join us in this month's challenge.  I'd love to see what y'all can create!

Who hid the ribbons?

Morning World

I am being really regular at this blogging lark, aren't I? Still enjoying colouring, though wasting serious amounts of time looking through the huge amount of digis / rubber stamps I've got as to which to pick next!

I'd also forgotten how small some of my older stamps are - talking about 10+ years old rubber stamps here - they are tiny.  I look at them now and wonder how I'd colour them, which will be a test for my colouring skills at some point in the future.

Anyhoos, onto today's card. Full disclosure (or excuses - depends on how you look at the problem!) my printer was playing up and printed the digi slightly blurry and faint, but I thought well keep on it should be ok. I realised eventually it probably hadn't printed the bows in her hair properly and now I've no idea what's going on with the bows - to my eyes they look plain weird.  I'll let you make your own decisions.

I used:

Image - All Dressed Up : Sweetie Pie

As always coloured with Copics

Dies : Pretty Pink Posh - stitched circles;  Memory Box - Riviera Corner

Everything else: Prima - flowers; My Mind's Eye, Miss Caroline - paper; Daisy Bucket Designs - sentiment.

Last, but by no means least, happy waving to my new followers!  Hello and welcome onboard, happy to have you and hope you find something you like here.

Sarah

Love to shop

 Good morning world,

In all honesty I do - Love to shop - but that's not truly what this post is about, well maybe only a little bit! It is mostly about the card, honestly :-)

After saying I've got so much stuff I wouldn't need to buy anything for years and years and years - guess what I did. Yep, went craft shopping!  Was very good though I didn't buy any papers, which was my main temptation in years gone past, instead I got dies. Oh and in the interests of honesty a few stamps, but they were in a sale, honest guv'nor they were!

So baring the die used to give the frilly edge, everything you see on this card is from my stuff.  I'm still getting back into the swing of good photographs of my cards.  I notice that not many people are taking pictures of cards standing anymore, and they are also adding lots of arty backgrounds and props.  I think that would take some practice for me - am not an arty photographer!!

Anyways, waffle over, the image is AllDressedUp - Love to Shop, however it's slightly different to the one I've used.  Mine is a single girl, the one in the shop is a trio.  Wouldn't be any problem to crop it down though - the magic of digis!

Coloured as always with my Copics and everything else is from my large mountain of craft things, apart from said die which is Pretty Pink Posh - Scallop Borders 1.

So I hope everybody had a good weekend (or as good as you could in these strange times).  I'll be back again in a few days.

Signing off,

Sarah
