All Hearts!

 And I'm back again!

This time I'm here with a card for the February challenge at Crafty Calendar Challenge, for this challenge we are sponsored by the wonderful Sheep Ski Designs, who is giving us a great prize for the lucky winner. The Design Team were also allowed a free choice of image to use for our makes.

The theme this month is 'Add a heart', so we need to see a heart somewhere on your entry - which doesn't need to be a card, it can be anything you've made, just make sure there's a heart there somewhere!

This is my card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
SheepSki Designs - Bob
coloured with my Copics
(I made the sentiment myself in Publisher)

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangle die set

Stencil:
Pretty Pink Posh - Layered Heart Stencil

Anything else:
Distress Inks
Woodgrain card
Copic Fineliner (for the doodling)

I look forward to seeing all your heart entries in our Challenge this month!

See you soon,

Sarah

Challenge/s:

Crafty Catz: #664 - Anything Goes (optional twist - make me smile)

Moving Along with the Times: Challenge 163 - Love Hearts

I Spy With My Little Eye: Challenge No.11 - Hearts and/or Roses

Try it on Tuesday: Add Some Text - I'm not sure if this is the sort of text you were looking for (it's not just a greeting but it's a poem or saying either so no problems if my entry doesn't fit with your theme :-) )

Autumn Colours

Good morning blogland

I'm here with my DT inspiration for October from Crafty Calendar Challenge.  Can you believe we are into October already? I must admit I'm finding it hard to work out where these 10 months have gone!

So onto details for the challenge - this month's theme is 'Autumn Colours / Halloween' and we are sponsored by the wonderful SheepSki Designs, with a prize of some Digi stamps from the store.

I'm very glad this was an Autumn or Halloween theme - I don't really know anyone who makes a big fuss over Halloween, so at least making an Autumn colours card may mean it actually gets used at some point! Rather than disappearing into my rapidly growing pile of 'made, what do I do with now, cards'.

We were very lucky to be allowed to choose an image to use from SheepSki and this is my make with my card:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamp:
SheepSki Designs - Annabell Image No 4
image and scene coloured with my Copics

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangles

Anything else:
Craftwork Cards - messages (for the pre-printed sentiment)
green striped card

So there we go folks, I look forward to seeing all your entries as I whizz around your blogs doing my DT thing. If you are into Halloween, however, please pop over to the challenge blog and have a look at my Teamies cards - they are wonderfully Halloween-y!

Now with sentiment

Good morning blogland,

I've had to slightly amend this post - I thought it was scheduled for Saturday, but didn't go live / post / appear - whatever you call it - and I've no idea why! So here I am hopefully better late than never!

There's a new challenge starting today (actually Saturday 7th Jan) over at Crafty Calendar Challenge first one of the New Year! I'll assume you are here following the challenge and wish you a very Happy New Year, even though rather belated!

So this month we are sponsored by the wonderful SheepSki Designs, I have to admit I have quite a few of these images - they are great for detailed colouring, my 'thing' when it comes to card making! The theme of the challenge is 'Add a sentiment', which I hope is self-explanatory. My sentiment is 'birthday'.

And here's the card:

Supplies used:

Digital image:
SheepSki Designs - Taking Pics
coloured with my Copics

Digital sentiment:
Lili of the Valley - Grunge Stamp Sentiments

Anything else:
Square double stitched die

I really do think these images lend themselves so well to being the focal point of the card and I just love them!

Please pop over to the challenge and have a look at my Teamies work - it's lovely - and then join in while you're there, you never know you might win!!

I'll finish with adding in apologies again for the delayed post - I really do need to find time at the weekends to check the gremlins haven't got into the system! Or, which is more likely, I selected the right day for a scheduled post to publish!!!

See you soon,
Sarah

Wait, it's September?

 Good morning blogworld,

Already?

So Summer is almost over, August has flown by, and now we are at the start of September which means new challenge time at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  This month the theme is 'Anything Goes' and the sponsor the ever wonderful SheepSki Designs - with a great prize for the lucky winner!

As always SheepSki very generously offered the DT their pick of images to use in our inspiration cards, but I'm a bit of a fan (and have won digi stamps before) so I have a little range of my favourite images from them.  I used one of those favourite stamps in my card - said card below:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
SheepSki Designs - Serenity (Please note the image does not include the butterfly tattoo - I added that)
coloured with my promarkers

Rubber stamps:
Butterflies - the small one on her neck and the large one under the sentiment. I can't tell you where they are from, they don't have their packaging anymore!

Anything else:
A very old rub-on sticker for the flourish
self-adhesive rhinestones
Un-branded stitched rectangular dies
Sentiment created in Publisher

I do hope you get some time to pop over to the challenge blog and take a look at my Teamies lovely creations, maybe even pop in an entry while you are there? There's a great prize on offer!

While I'm here, I wanted to say thanks for bearing with me during the Summer break - normal service will be resumed in the next week or so.

See you soon,
Sarah

Challenge/s:

Krafty Chicks Challenge: #627 - Week 1 - Stamp Act

As You Like It: Favourite Card base shape, and why!  It always used to be a 6"x6" square card base for me - until I started crafting again after my break.  I then discovered 5"x7" top fold cards and they just seem, for some reason, to suit my designs - I still go back to square occasionally, but I find myself going for the 5x7 much more.

Cardz 4 Galz: #180 - 3 of anything - there are three rhinestones in the corner of my card.

Belated Birthday

Hello blogland

I think I'm probably going to start at least 80% of my next six to eight weeks' worth of posts with 'sorry I went MIA - it's the Summer Holidays!' Technically it took me ages to write this post as it was both a busy week in the run-up to the summer holidays with a parent evening to talk about the Iceland trip in September; a 'Summer Concert' school event evening and finally a trip to Doncaster to see Paul Heaton and Jaqui Abbott - of The Beautiful South fame, but that's all still wrapped up in the summer hols. Will also add in it was incredibly hot here last week and for the first time I can remember I just gave up! Couldn't deal with the daytime heat and it was even worse trying to sleep in it. So I stopped and just crashed for the week.

It will take me a few days to catch up on getting back into the craft room as well, so in the meantime here's a card that I made for TTT's 15th birthday last month. Enjoy!

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
SheepSki Designs - Birthday Balloons
coloured with Copics

Rubber stamp:
Time for Tea - Bold Sentiments

Dies:
Julie Hickey - Birthday
un-branded stitched rectangle

Anything else?
Hobby House - self adhesive pearls
Mei Flower - heart embellishment

I will be back, but probably end of the week.

See you soon,
Sarah

New challenge!

 Good morning blogland,

I'm here today as it's the first Saturday of the month so there is a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge! We have a fabulous sponsor in SheepSki Designs, a wonderful prize and a challenge theme of Anything Goes! The Design Team were very generously allowed to pick a digi and this is my make with my choice.

When browsing the Etsy shop I saw this digi stamp, which sparked an idea and I ran with it, I'm hoping it's worked! I'm pretty sure the original idea behind this image might be a play on words - 'having a bad 'hare' day' - but I saw it and thought of the effort it takes to get ready for a night out. Et voila!

Supplies used:

Digi stamps:
SheepSki Designs - Bad Hare Day
coloured with my Copics
Sentiment is from an Etsy seller of cut files (they are intended for use with digital cutting machines making sayings to put on mugs, T-shirts, notice boards, etc - but I use them as digi stamps).

Everything else:
Die: Unbranded stitched rectangle
Stencil: Lawn Fawn
Bling: An ages old rhinestone embellishment
Distress Ink - for inking through the stencil
Blending brush

Hope you find time to pop over to the challenge and take a look at my Teamies creations - they are all fabulous! Maybe even find time to join in with us? It's an easy theme this month and a great prize!

Meanwhile, dans la maison de Sarah, TTT and I are off to see the new Dr Strange film this afternoon. In all honesty I think I'm more excited than she is (I am a great Comic / Superhero film enthusiast) but still some nice mother / (moody teenage) daughter bonding time is always a bonus!!!

Signing off now,
See you soon,
Sarah

And finally....

For my little run of cards

Good evening blogland

I'm writing this post much later than I was expecting - been an upside down sort of day.  TTT got her Covid booster at school during last week and, as happened last time, she has now got cold symptoms and didn't feel well enough to go to school today.  As part of feeling unwell she also slept very poorly - so guess who was up at 2.30am getting her an Ibuprofen and glass of milk and then who couldn't get back to sleep properly themselves.  Oh yes, that would be me!

Of course that meant I slept in (as did she) and so today was very lazy day.  I didn't even get to my gym this morning - very bad! That's something, as well as colouring, that soothes the soul. Anyways, she's much better this evening and tomorrow is another day which will, hopefully, be back to normal.

Now onto final card of this little flurry:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
SheepSki Designs - Goth Girl (image number - 167)
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
Taylored Expresssion - Simple Strips : Birthday

Dies:
Taylored Expression - Simple Strips : Well Rounded
Un-branded rectangle stitched die set
un-branded stitched tag set

Anything else?
Glitz paper pack - Pretty in Pink
I don't know what they are called (or where I got them as they are so old!) some moulded paper dots
black card
white gel pen

What I did:
Re-sized, printed then coloured in the digital stamp with my Copics and fussy cut out.
Used the rectangle stitched die set to cut base black matt and base patterned paper, then glued them together and to the card base.
Used the tag dies to cut a black matt and piece of patterned paper, glued them together and them as the next layer.
Cut more patterned paper and black card, layered it up and glued that as the next layer.
Realised the edges of that layer were hanging off the card and chopped them off!
Added the 3d paper dots and sentiment on 3d foam as the next layer.
Finally popped the image onto 3d foam and she went on the very top layer.
et voila, job done!

So today, other than feeling tired, I've been mostly looking at what is worn in Iceland on a walking holiday in September.  TTT is going on a school expedition for her Geography GCSE in September and I'm researching it!  Mostly I was wishing I could go as I'd love to see the Northern Lights!  But this is more of a fact finding exercise to see what a teenager who reckons she doesn't feel the cold can get away with wearing as an absolute minimum of layers. On-going project!!

Signing off now,
See you soon,
Sarah

Challenge/s:

Fab'n'Funky Challenges: Challenge #543 - 2 or more patterned papers

The Paper Players: PPP576 - Tic-Tac-Toe (mine is a diagonal line : die-cut - flower - birthday  (assuming flower is ok on the paper)).
Crafty Catz: challenge #580 - Anything Goes (optional twist - flowers). I did attempt the twist - flowers on the patterned papers.

September already!

Good morning Blogworld,

I am amazed how quickly this year is going - September already! TTT's school goes back on Tuesday and the chill is encouraging me to wear an extra layer of clothing! The TV weather presenter tells me, though, that the extra layer of clothing will not be needed next week - so I won't pack away all my summer clothes just yet.

So waffle done, the purpose of this post is - it's challenge time over at Crafty Calendar Challenge. Always with an Anything Goes theme, but with some lovely sponsors and great prizes:

and

The Design Team were very kindly allowed to choose an image from SheepSki Designs - this is my choice and make using that choice:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamp:
SheepSki Design image - Solo
coloured with my Copics

Rubber Stamp and Dies:
Creative Expressions: Bold Words - Celebrate
A matching die and stamp set
Creative Expressions: Sue Wilson - Noble Collection: Double Stitched Squares

Embossing Folder:
Craftwell eBosser: embossing folder which came with the eBosser and has no name that I can see!

How did I make it?
Printed out 'Solo' on Copic friendly paper and coloured her in with my Copics, then die-cut the image out with the Double Stitched Squares die.
Took a piece of white card, die-cut it with the next size up Double Stitched Squares die and then embossed it with the eBosser folder.
Found a scrap of grey/silver card and die-cut the word 'Celebrate'.
Then glued the word to the image and stamped 'you' towards the end of 'Celebrate'.
Took the stamped image panel and attached it to the embossed panel with 3d foam squares.
Finally I took all those and glued the embossed panel to the card base.

et voila!

Would love to see you over at the Challenge this month - Anything Goes is such a good theme and there are great prizes on offer.  There are also fabulous DT makes from my Teamies - as always!

See you soon,
Signing off,
Sarah
