The children take the spotlight

 Good morning blogland

Saturdays are rolling around almost as fast as Tuesdays are - here were are with another Saturday and so another Sweet Stampin' Challenge appears as well.

This time the theme is 'For the children' and, as always, these are 'for fun' challenges so no prize but we do have 'Top 5' with a badge.  It's also a really friendly challenge with very few rules - you only need to make sure you stamp (whether that's rubber or digi), follow the theme and don't backlink.

So what did I make for a child - this card:

Supplies used:

Rubber stamp:
The Greeting Farm : OA Happy Day
coloured with my Copics
Time for Tea Designs : Bold Sentiments set

Dies:
Creative Craft Products : Stitched Nestables - Stitched Circles Set
Honey Doo Crafts - Connect the Dots nesting dies
Time for Tea Designs : Bold Sentiment Co-ordinating Dies

Paper:
Polkadoodles : oh boy!

Anything else:
Cuttlebug embossing folder : Seeing Spots
Distress Ink

That's quite a long list - for a fairly simple card - isn't it!

It was really nice pulling out my old stamps (this card and the last two CaS) and I had forgotten how quick they are to colour.  I think/hope (?) I've done both sets of images more justice now that my colouring skills have improved over the 15 to 20 years (oh my God - how long!!) since I've been colouring.

So I do hope you find time to pop on over to Sweet Stampin' and take a look-see at the lovely cards my Teamies have made.

And I will see you on the other side of my holiday - we are off to Inverness for a week.  All three of us!  That will be interesting ;-)

Going in circles

Good evening blogland

Genuinely I am such a dimwit!  For the first time in absolutely ages I was invited to GDT on a challenge blog and guess what - I only went and got the days wrong in my head!

How on earth I got a Try it on Tuesday challenge in my head for a date that was a Friday I'll never know.  So all I can do is offer a genuine apology to the whole Team and get my card up as soon as possible,

The theme of the challenge is use circles on you project and this is the card I made:

Supplies used:

Rubber stamps (and matching dies):
My Favorite Things: JB Monkey Around Duo
coloured with my Copics

Dies:
Pretty Pink Posh: Scallop Borders 1
MFT: Die-namics - I&O stitched circles
un-branded stitched rectangles

Anything else:
various very old designer papers
Time for Tea: Sweet Summer enamel dots

OK, so I will apologise one more time to all the lovely crafters over at Try it on Tuesday and go away to hide in my shame for being so incredibly late posting this!

Cheerio for now,
Sarah

Still creeping but....

 now we've jumped!

Good morning blogland

Here I am with the December New Release for All Dressed Up - and it's not Christmas - we're jumping Christmas and going straight into the New Year! I can see it makes sense as if you are organised, unlike me, you've probably finished and posted your Christmas cards and are looking for the next occasion and New Year would be it!

Though I would imagine you can use this image as a birthday card as well if the birthday is near the beginning of the year - or maybe even a new baby card (if you know it's a boy?).

Supplies used:

All Dressed Up - Star of 2025
coloured with my Copics

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangles
Time for Tea - Dream Big

Anything else?
blue striped card

For more New Release inspiration why not either pop over to the Facebook Group or the Blog, both DTs have made fabulous cards and they are well worth a look.

I also have the my December Facebook Challenge card to share - which I won't be leaving until the last minute this month (like I usually do) but will be sharing at the weekend.

See you later,
Sarah

Boo to you too!

 Morning everyone,

A last minute post to remind anyone who might read this that, if you Facebook, there are a few more days to enter the Facebook only challenge for All Dressed Up Stamps.  It finishes on the last day of the month, as always!

The rules are not too much hassle - belong to the Group, follow the theme (which this month is 'Halloween or use Autumn colours') and use an ADU stamp - follow those and off you go!

This is my DT inspiration card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
coloured with my Copics

Dies used:
Die-namics - 'wavy edge'
unbranded stitched rectangles
unbranded alphabet

Papers:
echo park - Chillingsworth Manor

Anything else:
Copic fine liner to draw the spider and web

So you'd think I  would've gone for Autumn colours, but for some reason I went with Halloween. No need for the card, no one to give it to, but I fancied colouring in the image - so off I went!

Feel free to pop over to the Facebook Group and see the other lovely Inspiration makes my Teamies have made and if you don't 'do' Facebook there's always the blog and their challenges.

Off again now - see you later
Sarah

Chldren!

Good morning blogland

My goodness here's another Saturday come around - seriously this year I've no idea where it's gone!

As it is another Saturday, it's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' and this fortnight the theme is 'For a child'.  Nice and easy, eh! So all we need to see are those stamped whatevers - digital, rubber, sentiment, image - on your project and you good to go!  As always, this is a 'for fun' challenge, so no prizes, but then who makes cards (or whatevers) for prizes?

I've no idea why, but when I see a 'for a child' challenge, unless I'm working with a specific image or am told it's for a girl, I tend to go for boy's cards.  It's pointless, I've no boy child to make a card for (hmmm nor even any girls now) but still I do those boys cards!

Having said that - here is my card for this challenge:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Pollycraft - and as the brand no longer exists all I'll say is I used my Copics to colour the image

Rubber stamps:
taylored expressions - 'It's your day' (for the 'wish big')
a very old rubber set for 'boy' - I think it was Do-craft but I chucked the packaging years ago!

Dies:
un-branded DL (or slimline) stitched die
Julie Hickey - Birthday Profile Die set

That's about it folks - still busy here.  TTT is off to Skeg-vegas this evening with one of her friends to see Blood Brothers.  They studied the play as part of their GCSE English Lit, and were interested to see the actual play performed.

Other than that what's going on in our lives?  The extension - oooh now that is exciting the bathroom fitters are coming on Monday to do the en-suite shower-room.  I'll share pictures when they are done.  I'm still working and TTT is now over half-way through her A-levels.  Universities are still high on the list.  We've done Open Days for two at Lincoln (Uni of Lincoln and BGU), we've also done York and are doing Loughborough next weekend.  Then we pause and collate.

Hope everyone out in blogland is well, and now I'm off.

See you later.

Sarah

Oh those boys!

 Good evening blogland,

I'm trying really hard to keep up with posting as I should, and I'm not doing too badly but I'm afraid I'm still falling down badly on commenting on everyone else's blogs for which I sincerely apologise.

This job I'm doing at the moment is holding steady at 4 days a week, and it should come to an end when the girl off on maternity leave comes back at the end of July.  I'm enjoying the job but my goodness I'm going to be glad to get some of 'my' time back!

Anyways, in spirit of trying to keep up with posts / cards that I should be making and blogging.  This card is for the current All Dressed Up Facebook challenge  - I'm nearly out of time (challenge finishes at the end of May) but it is still May, so I am in the right month just!!  The theme is 'For the boys!' and as always you need to use an ADU image to join in.

Stamps used:

Digital Stamp:
All Dressed Up - Monsterific
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
Catherine Poole - Everybody Say Happy Sentiments Stamp Set

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangle dies
My Favorite Things - In and Out stitched circles

Anything else:
Striped card
paper dots

OK, I'm off again now, been a nice Bank Holiday weekend but work is back on tomorrow so I'm off to bed soon.

See you later,
Sarah

A late, late, birthday!

 Good evening blogland,

This post should have been up last week - I thought I'd scheduled it, haven't been back to check until yesterday and realised it never appeared.  I don't know what I've done, but here I am to fix it.

Good morning blogland,

It's Saturday and so it's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' Challenge and it's a special one - we are celebrating 14 years, yes count them 14!, of challenges!  I 've been around for a lot of them, although with a very large break in the middle and it seems so weird sometimes that the blog is actually 2 years younger than my TTT.  I've made so many of her younger birthday cards and then used them for challenges!!

Anyways, enough reminiscing from me - on with the challenge.  In honour of our birthday the theme this fortnight is 'Birthdays'.  This is my card, and, quelle surprise, I was running out of time to make something new so this is one from the vaults.  Made but never shared.

Supplies used:

Rubber stamp:
The Greeting Farm: Miss Anya - Ian (I think it's 'My Guy' but I'll check.  It's so old though that I doubt it's available anywhere)

Patterned Paper:

Anything else:
A very old pre-printed foiled sentiment

Right that's me off to work out what I've used on this card. I'll be back!

See you soon,
Sarah

One for the boys

 Hello blogland,

Can you believe another month has rolled round and it's now time to share my All Dressed Up Facebook Group Challenge DT inspiration card? I know I can't! This year seems to be flying by to me, probably not helped by the fact that my daughter (TTT  - The Troublesome Teen) turned 16 this week. Eeek, I'm getting old!!

So as you may have guessed by the title of this post - the challenge theme this month is 'For the Boys', so all your masculine themed projects please.  As always following the theme and using an ADU image are the two requirements to enter the challenge.  Of course, if you're more a blogger than a Facebooker there's always a challenge going on over at ADU's blog as well.

Here's my card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - Gaming Boy
coloured with my Copics

Dies:
Whimsy Stamps - OMG! word die set
un-branded stitched rectangle

Patterned Paper:
Basic Grey - archaic

Aaand that's it folks!
I'll be back soon,
Sarah

Challenge/s:

Passion for Markers : Week 695 - Dies and/or punches

Krafty Chicks Thursday : #669 All Occasions

The Cutie Pie Challenge : Challenge #183 - Dads and/or Lads (As you may have guessed this one is aimed at the Lads!)

June New Release

Good morning blogland,

I'm back today with my Design Team card for All Dressed Ups' June new release.  If you are a Facebooker you can pop over to the Facebook Group to have a look at the first batch of the inspiration cards - mine included!

If you are more of a blogger, then there was a post there too - All Dressed Up Challenge blog, with lots more wonderful inspiration.

So without further ado, here's my card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - Little Sports Champ
coloured with Copics

Rubber stamps:
My Favorite Things - Totally awesome!
taylored expressions - Simple Strips: birthday

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangle set
taylored expressions - Simple Strips: well rounded

Anything else:
Lawn Fawn - lawn clippings stencils: brick
Distress Inks
black card

Aaaand that's it, for now, folks,
Be back soon,
Sarah

Challenge/s:

Passion for Markers :Week 693 - For a man or boy

Gem of a Craft Challenge: Wk 11 - Anything Goes

Time Out Challenge: Challenge 240 - 'Sportive'. Well it could be the 'sport' side of things - football and skate-boarding.  It could be the 'fun' side of things - doesn't chap and his little pal look very happy together going off to play? It could also be that I really like using both ADU images and this stencil is my favourite, so these make me happy.  So many reasons this card is 'sportive'! :-)

Now with sentiment

Good morning blogland,

I've had to slightly amend this post - I thought it was scheduled for Saturday, but didn't go live / post / appear - whatever you call it - and I've no idea why! So here I am hopefully better late than never!

There's a new challenge starting today (actually Saturday 7th Jan) over at Crafty Calendar Challenge first one of the New Year! I'll assume you are here following the challenge and wish you a very Happy New Year, even though rather belated!

So this month we are sponsored by the wonderful SheepSki Designs, I have to admit I have quite a few of these images - they are great for detailed colouring, my 'thing' when it comes to card making! The theme of the challenge is 'Add a sentiment', which I hope is self-explanatory. My sentiment is 'birthday'.

And here's the card:

Supplies used:

Digital image:
SheepSki Designs - Taking Pics
coloured with my Copics

Digital sentiment:
Lili of the Valley - Grunge Stamp Sentiments

Anything else:
Square double stitched die

I really do think these images lend themselves so well to being the focal point of the card and I just love them!

Please pop over to the challenge and have a look at my Teamies work - it's lovely - and then join in while you're there, you never know you might win!!

I'll finish with adding in apologies again for the delayed post - I really do need to find time at the weekends to check the gremlins haven't got into the system! Or, which is more likely, I selected the right day for a scheduled post to publish!!!

See you soon,
Sarah

One for the boys

Good evening blogland,

Just back from a school evening presentation on GCSE revision - things are getting real now that TTT is in Yr11 and GCSEs are a 'real thing'!

Therefore I am relaxing by surfing and realised it's been nearly a week since I posted a card last, so here's one for the little boys out there! This one was made for the challenge on All Dressed Up's Facebook group, the challenge runs until the end of September and themed For the boys so cards featuring any ADU image from the 'boys' selection. Here's the card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - 3, 2, 1 GO!
coloured with my Copics (the image is the boy, 3,2,1 Go and the car - I created the scene)

Rubber stamp:
Catherine Pooler - All Around Wishes

Dies:
Pretty Pink Posh - Scallop Borders 1
Un-branded stitched rectangles

Anything else:
Stiped card
black card

Hope everyone else is having a less stressful evening!

New release time!

 Good morning blogland

This post is all about All Dressed Up's new digi stamp release - you can read all about it at the Blog or on the Facebook post.

As part of the Facebook Design Team I'm in the lucky position to be able to play with an image before it's released to create an 'inspiration' card - now I'm not saying my cards are inspirational but those images are super cute and great fun to colour, so I'm more than happy to have a lot of fun creating.

The new release image I used is Time to Cool Off, something I could do with at the moment! It's got really hot again in my part of the UK and it's not pleasant! I'm going to have to get up at some ridiculous time soon to avoid the heat, I've just had to stop my weightlifting session as it's too hot for me at 9.30am and jogging in the evening is like jogging at lunch time - far too hot! Unheard of!

Here's the card:

Supplies used:

Digital image:
All Dressed Up - Time to Cool Off
coloured with Copics

Sentiment stamp:
A random bottom of bargain bin one I got at a craft fair, so no packaging!

Dies:
Un-branded stitched rectangles
Pretty Pink Posh - Scallop Borders 1

Papers:
echo park - Splash!

Anything else:
Distress Ink and home-made stencil for the clouds

I hope you'll agree Wendy has played another blinder with this release!

See you soon,
Sarah

Challenge/s:

Crafty Friends Challenge: 158 - August: Summer Colours

Digi Choosday: Wk 31 - Anything Goes

Shopping Our Stash: SOS476 - She Sells Seashells - although the image is new, the rest is very old! The Distress Inks will be over 10 years old and the patterned paper about the same!

Birthday Boy

Afternoon Blogland

Another lengthy pause between posts, not intentional it's just that I'm struggling at the minute to find the ooomph to blog. Always something else that needs doing, blogging will re-appear high on my to-do list again, it's just low priority right at the minute.

Doesn't mean to say I'm neglecting making cards - that I'm certainly not! Got proof as well in the form of the card I'm posting today.  No reason to make it at all, don't even know any birthday boys, just felt like colouring a Pollycraft image and this one jumped to the front of the pile!

Have to say this card did not end up looking anything like the idea I had at the start! I'm not impressed with the colouring of his face - I was going for the 'he's got a nose/snout' angle, don't think I quite got there though.  Also there wasn't going to be any patterned paper on the card at all and now there's loads, the card was going to be square, then a side fold 5x7, now it's a top fold 5x7.  Hoping I'm not alone in a finished card looking nothing like the start point, or I'll just have to acknowledge what I've always thought - I'm a total weirdo!!!

Here's the card:

Supplies used:

Digital Image:
Pollycraft - Marley's Party
(I don't know if you can get the image anywhere now since Pollycraft no longer exists)
coloured with my Copics

Papers:
BoBunny - Surprise collection
scrap of striped card from Anna Marie Designs

Dies:
Julie Hickey - Birthday
My Favorite Things - A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX
Die-namics - Photo Corners

Anything else:
Basic Gray - dark brown chipboard letters : for 'boy'
black card
white gel pen for highlights on image
3d foam squares (give the image a bit height by popping it on them)

I'm off now - it's Saturday which is pizza day in our house and, as I make the pizza from scratch, I've a fair amount of prepping to do!
Signing off now,
see you soon,
Sarah

Gamer!

Good evening blogland,

A very quick post here, again to share a card to join in with a challenge - I really ought to get myself more organised so I'm not limboing under the finish post of challenges all the time!

Fairly excited here for Sunday - I'm off to Harrogate Stamperama! Bit of a long drive, takes 2 1/2 hours to get there, but it's worth it! Anyone else going?

Here's the last minute entry to challenge card - just a random, coloured for fun image made into a card.

Stamps used:
Digital stamp:
Saturated Canary - Gamer
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
Taylored Expressions - Simple Strips: Man, Myth, Legend

Dies:
My Favorite Things - Skinny Strips
Sunny Studios - Stitched Circles

Patterned Paper:
echo park - A Boy's Life

Anything else?
Blue paper twine

And that's it folks, till next time!
Signing off,
Sarah

Challenge/s:

Crafty Catz: #592 - Anything Goes / option add ribbon/twine, paper twine for me.

Passion for Markers: Week 638 - Favourite Colours.  Well I do seem to be leaning into shades of green, blue and a bit of red at the minute. Maybe it's because I find those the easiest Copics to work with! (Ha, and for once it's not PfMs that I'm linking up with at the last minute!)

Ouch!

Good Morning Blogland

`Here I am with all systems go and normality restored, which will last until the next school holidays when life will be up in the air again! De ja vu anyone?

Anyways, lets leave the griping behind and talk cards! I made this over the weekend to join in with Passion for Markers - had withdrawal symptoms last week as I ran out of time to enter.  So I had to get back on track this week!

Y'know, I only realised after colouring the majority of the image that the poor kid in this stamp is having his toe snapped at by a crab! Previous to this realisation I had the sentiment all lined up and then had a moment of panic, wondering if the sentiment actually suits the image. This resulted in me rummaging through all the sentiments I have, not finding anything I thought would be appropriate and going back to Plan A after all!  Does anyone else feel they don't have enough sentiments, or is it just me!

Card for you:

Supplies Used:

Digital Stamp:
Polkadoodles - Rocco Surf's Up
coloured with my Copics

Rubber Stamp:
Whimsy Stamps - Simple Sentiment Strips

Dies:
Creative Expressions - Sue Noble Collection: Double Stitched Squares
Pretty Pink Posh - Scallop Borders 2
Whimsy Stamps - Smile
Papers:
echo park - Splash

It was going to be a completely flat card (no 3d foam anywhere) but that just felt so odd for this type of card, in the end I 3d'd the sentiment by cutting and stacking it with random white card.  Much better!

And so I'm off now for a busy day of housework and exercise! Oh the joys!

Teenagers!

Good evening blogland,

So who can guess what's happened in our household the last week?  Yep, that's it - School Holidays! One week in and one week to go.  As always the first thing to be dropped at these times is my crafting, so no blogging either.

Still I did make two cards as it was TTTs boyfriend's (still can't believe that is a thing) birthday end of last week. One card was rejected - I got his hair colour wrong - and had to be made again, this one was accepted no problems, as 'it's not too obvious you got his hair colour wrong again'!

Accepted card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Mo's Digital Pencil - Aiden
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp (sentiment)
taylored expressions - Birthday

Dies:
Die-namics - Stitched rectangle STAX
taylored expressions - Aysmmetrical

Paper:
Basic Grey - archaic

Anything else:
indentz embossing folder
Basic Grey - chipboard numbers

That's about it folks, hopefully I'll manage to post before another week has gone by - but you never know when it's school holidays!

As You Like It Challenge: To Recycle or Buy New - Hmmm well now, I used to keep loads of 'bits' to use on my cards - bits of ribbon off of clothes, bits of packaging, bits of other cards -  soo many 'bits'! Then chucked them all when I realised I'd kept most of them for over 10 years and not used them! However I don't buy much new either (other than digis and dies) and I do use lots of scraps - paper and card.  So what am I? I'm not sure - not really a recycler nor a big buyer of new.  Maybe I tip towards buy new - but I think there must be a new word out there for me! Scrooge-er??!

Game on!

 Good morning blogland!

Oh my, I've neglected you for a week - I'm so sorry! It's not that I wasn't interested in crafting but the first week of TTT going back to school always ends up being full of catching up on all the things (mostly housework!) that were neglected while she's on holidays so I don't get much crafting time. I'm all caught up now, so you can expect normal service to resume.

Talking of normal service, it's time for the first challenge of 2022 for Crafty Calendar Challenge and to start the year off we have a super easy Anything Goes theme.  The Design Team were given digital stamps to use from the wonderful All Dressed Up Stamps and my pick was Gaming Boy.

This is my card:

Supplies Used:

Digital Stamp:
All Dressed Up - Gaming Boy
coloured with Copics

Anything else:
My Favorite Things - Die-namics Stacking Stars
Un-branded stitched rectangle dies
Anna Marie Designs - dotty card

What I did:
Re-sized the stamp and added a sentiment in Word then printed on Copic friendly paper, coloured the image in with my Copics and then die-cut him out with one of the un-branded dies.
I then cut another rectangle and stacking stars die from the dotty card.
Mounted the image onto the dotty card, then arranged the stars in a pattern I liked and added the whole panel, with 3d foam squares, onto a Kraft card blank.
et voila, job done!

Why not pop over to the blog and have a look at the lovely cards my Teamies have made, you won't be disappointed!  You'll no doubt find me popping up on some of your blogs as well having a look at your entries to the challenge!

So many layers!

Hello blogworld,

Been a busy wee while chez Sarah which explains the absence - will catch you all up with the adventures of me another post - this post is dedicated to Sweet Stampin' Challenge.

I can't believe how quickly it's come round to Team Wendy's challenge time but it has and so here I am! This fortnight our challenge is Lots of Layers.

I've no idea why I tend to make boys / masculine cards with layers, but I do and I've proved it this time as well. Photographic proof:

My card:

Supplies used:

Rubber stamp:
C.C. Designs - Sugarplums: Balloon Trevor
coloured with Copics

Papers:
Bo Bunny - Surprise! collection

Dies:
Die-namics - Rectangle Stax
Stacking Stars and circles - but can't remember the name of the companies

Anything else:
Kraft card
Pre-printed sentiment

Wot I did!
Stamped and coloured the image then die-cut it out.
I had no plan or sketch in mind, just played around with pieces of paper until I liked the way they looked and mounted them on Kraft card.
Added the sentiment to a circle of Kraft card then popped it and the image up on 3d foam.
et voila!

My Teamies have made some fabulous creations and we'd love to see what you make as well! Please remember though, this is a stamping challenge so we need to see some stamping on your projects - they don't need to be cards - just include some stamping.

Be back soon, with an update on my antics shortly - once the current antics are over!

Signing off,
See you soon,
Sarah

Ahoy there!

 Hello blogworld

Still not quite back to routine yet following on from TTT's birthday.  Currently I'm on tea making duties while hubby is re-arranging the Teens room to put up the Tokyo Ghoul canvases she got for a birthday present.  He's also listening to the radio on an echo dot, another present and a total novelty for us - we've never had one before Tuesday!

So as I can't hang around long, I'll move swiftly onto my card:

I used:

Image: Pollycraft Digi Stamp - Cuthbert yo-ho
Catherine Pooler - All Around wishes 'day'
 Colouring: Copics
Dies: Sunny Studio - Happy

And that's the story folks! Oh, apart from I can't see the word 'happy' on it's side - so I'm not entirely sure this card works, but the family tells me I'm the oddball and they can see 'happy'!

 Hello nobody!

Well it's been so long since I blogged that Created by Sarah has only gone and archived itself.  I can't blooming well get into it, so here I am again starting out talking to myself.

Still I was quicker than expected, I thought it would take me ten years to get back to making cards it's only taken me nearly seven. Impressed or what!

If anybody stumbles upon this blog from my last blog (or even fancies going and looking at the old blog for a bit of back story) you'll be wondering how the house renovations went.  Craft room - no; new kitchen - yes; new bathroom - yes; new bedroom for TTT (The Troublesome Teenager - previously known at SWMbO) oh yes!

Anyway, can do more waffling later, now onto the main event - I made a card! Go me! Look, what do you think of it?

Now let's see if I can remember how to do this!

Image is a digi stamp from Lili of the Valley - Oliver Cool

Coloured with my Copics, will find the papers and various dies plus a very old sticker for the sentiment.

Not bad for first attempt after so many years, even if I do say so myself.

Tomorrow |I will see if there are still such things as challenges to enter the card into!

Now I'm getting old so am off to bed,

Signing off,

Sarah
