Dreams do come true

Morning world,

So to go back to my little experiment with papers, ink and colouring at the weekend, where I discovered that Versafine and Copics no longer mix. Good job I had a Memento ink pad to hand!

I find it a little odd that up until the weekend the Versafine hadn't bled when colouring but I can't deny it did, and it did it every time I stamped and coloured my images on a range of papers. No denying it's unsuitable for Copic colouring, still good though for any other stamps.

So am now a definite Memento ink for colouring in with Copics kinda gal!

Here is the first card made following the experiment. I like it mostly, but I always struggle with sentiments - either size of, place of or just which one to use - and I'm not sure the sentiment really goes with the image, but hey ho it's what I went with!

 I used:

Image: The Greeting Farm - Anya Styles

Sentiment: Catherine Pooler - All Around Wishes

Coloured with Copics

Papers: Bo Bunny - Ambrosia and Prima - Fairy Flora

Lace and ribbon from my stuff

P.S.: For the curious among you - a quick shot of all the images I was working on, the stamp I used and my 'Copic combos' images. Ha, I never noticed until just now - the mat is soooo mucky!!  My goodness, how did that happen!! 🤣

Will be back another time with variations on the theme!

Bye for now,

Sarah

Dream big

 Morning world,

A quiet weekend for me this time, no blister inducing days out with TTT and her friends (thankfully!), meant that I could do a large amount of crafting. Much better than blister inducing walking.

However, the disappointment, an image I'd stamped smudged when I was colouring in - that lead to a lot of stamping of same image with different ink pads on all the different types of stamping/colouring specific paper I have. Discovered that Versamark doesn't seem to like Copics anymore, don't remember that being a thing but there you go. Expect a stream of cards with one image coloured differently appearing in due course.

Having to stamp and re-stamp also inspired me to do a set of colouring index cards, always fancied having some sort of reference but never took the time to create one - have now!

Enough waffle, card:

I used:

Stamp: The Greeting Farm - Miss Anya Hats off

Coloured with Copics

Dies: Pretty Pink Posh - Scallop Borders Set 1 and Spellbinders - Floral Ovals

Papers: Bo Bunny - Smoochable

Everything else: 'Dream' and 'big' chipboard letters, bit of coloured paper string - all from my stuff.

And that's it folks,

Sarah

Let's Party!

 Morning world,

I think I need a new system to log which cards I have or haven't blogged - this one fell through the net. I'm thinking  'blogged' and 'not blogged' folders will be simple enough for me to understand!

Not much has happened since my last post, other than I got soaked doing a 5km jog, came home like a drowned rat! Also my blisters are slowly going away, blooming awkward place to try and put a plaster though, back of heel, they keep falling off.

Let's move onto my not blogged card:

I used:

Stamps: Stamping Bella - Ava loves to celebrate; Sentiment - Lili of the Valley

Coloured with copics

Dies: La La Land - Heart Banner

Everything else: My endless craft supplies

That's all from me for now,

I like to experiment...

sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Hello world,

Extra post here for you all! In celebration of new followers - hello new followers, here's a happy welcome wave for you - and because I do like to experiment.

I always used to have a liking for making very CAS (Clean and Simple) cards, but you do have to be so precise with them as all flaws are on show as there's nowhere to hide! I have a tendency to be a bit slap dash and I can't do straight lines (almost called my blog something witty along the lines of my tendency to go wonky but couldn't think of a good name), so I don't do them as often as I'd like.  I sort of morph characters, paper and embellishments into my kind of CAS.

However, having said all that, today I felt in a very CAS mode and this is the result:

I can't give you anymore supplies than I used my Copics to colour in the ladybirds and a Spellbinders oval die to cut out the sentiment as the stamps (from one sheet) didn't have any details on them.  I'm guessing it was a freebie with a mag, back when I brought magazines and so I've no idea about them at all.  I can tell you I stamped the ladybug out three times onto Joanna Sheen's white stamping paper, made my own DL card base and used a spare bit of card to stamp the sentiment onto. That's all folks!

My second experiment, trying to not have to list a load of Copics everytime I colour, so wondering about finishing off a post with a 'these are the Copics I used' picture. Whad'ya think? Yay or nay? Realise ciaos' don't have their numbers visible (they are: Y17, 15 and11: R27 and 22) but it works for Sketch, I think anyway.

So properly signing off now,

See you tomorrow on 'normal' card day!

Wouldn't it be nice...

to be somewhere just chilling out in a field of flowers like the sweet girl in the LoTV stamp?  Not for me, not today!

Good morning world

Saturday went well for TTT and her friends - they had a lovely time - I spent from 10am to 4pm on my feet in new shoes and now have humongous blisters! No sympathy from either her or hubby - they just politely enquired as to why I didn't wear comfy shoes if I knew I was going to be on my feet all day!!  'Fashion, people, fashion!' is my reply. I'm nearing a large birthday and do not want to be an old lady - so I'm denying my age for as long as I can.

Anyhoo enough rambling, got things to do, so onto card. Oh and you know how I said no new craft stuff needed, weeeell 'needed' and 'wanted' are relative terms aren't they?

So I used:

Stamp - Lili of the Valley: it's another old stamp that I just cannot find on-line but I think it's called Summer Daydream or just Daydreamer something like that, I'm not sure.

Coloured with Copics

Sentiment: Catherine Pooler - All Around Wishes Sentiments stamps.

Dies: Pretty Pink Posh - stitched circles and Catherine Pooler - Wishes word die

Everything else: un-named patterned paper from my stuff and ribbon from my stuff.

Hope everyone else had nice relaxing, non blister inducing weekends.

Signing off,

Sarah

Running late today

 Hello world

Posting later than have been, been busy finishing off my recent cards - you know doing inserts; finding envelopes and putting into clear bags.  Needs to be done but a bit boring.

Also led me down the road of going through the storage units and discovering all the things I brought over the years and am very unlikely to ever use again.  ebay is calling, me thinks!  Once I can get hubbies attention for long enough to list stuff - he does ebay not me.

So card for tonight is:

I stamped the fence, sentiment and corner onto the white mat and then separately stamped, coloured and cut out the Pixie and popped her back on with 3d foam for a bit of depth. The corner and sentiment didn't go in quite the right place, but it's no too bad (I think!). Mounted that panel onto the Dottie card and then mounted the whole lot on the card blank.

Stamps :

Images - C.C Designs: Swiss Pixie Brigitta and Butterfly Fence; Sentiment - TPC Studio: Boho Blooms; Corner - Jen Wilson, Laundry Line: Flirty "Lil Girl"

Images coloured with my Copics

Anne Marie Designs - Dottie Card

Craftwork Cards - Kraft card blank

Got to go as got dishes to do before bed, and a long day tomorrow. I'm taking TTT to the seaside with some of her friends - celebrating being allowed to meet up outside. It's going to rain but they are all 13 / 14 yrs old and say they don't care - I'm nowhere near 13 and do care!  But, hey ho that's parental duties for you!

Hope you all have a good weekend, and see you Monday.

Who hid the ribbons?

Morning World

I am being really regular at this blogging lark, aren't I? Still enjoying colouring, though wasting serious amounts of time looking through the huge amount of digis / rubber stamps I've got as to which to pick next!

I'd also forgotten how small some of my older stamps are - talking about 10+ years old rubber stamps here - they are tiny.  I look at them now and wonder how I'd colour them, which will be a test for my colouring skills at some point in the future.

Anyhoos, onto today's card. Full disclosure (or excuses - depends on how you look at the problem!) my printer was playing up and printed the digi slightly blurry and faint, but I thought well keep on it should be ok. I realised eventually it probably hadn't printed the bows in her hair properly and now I've no idea what's going on with the bows - to my eyes they look plain weird.  I'll let you make your own decisions.

I used:

Image - All Dressed Up : Sweetie Pie

As always coloured with Copics

Dies : Pretty Pink Posh - stitched circles;  Memory Box - Riviera Corner

Everything else: Prima - flowers; My Mind's Eye, Miss Caroline - paper; Daisy Bucket Designs - sentiment.

Last, but by no means least, happy waving to my new followers!  Hello and welcome onboard, happy to have you and hope you find something you like here.

Who doesn't love ice-cream?

 Hello world,

I know I do! A bit too much really, which explains why I now also work out most days.  It's been a complete turn around really, from never exercising to exercising 5/6 days a week, done me good it has to be said but it's still a struggle some days to convince myself I 'want' to go jump around or lift weights!

Anyways, sorry went off topic there.  Back to cards, still on a Stamping Bella kick due to the amount of un-inked stamps. Safe to say I have many other brands of stamps that are un-inked so I will be offering more variety soon!

I am finding it sad though, to find so many of my favourite stamping companies no longer exist.  Some real proper favourites appear to have just gone and I wonder did this happen recently or have they been gone for ages and, being out of the hobby, I just wasn't aware.

So today's card:

Hmm, looks like my attempt at an 'interesting' background is a bit match-matchy.  Try something different next time I think.

I used:

Image - Stamping Bella : uptown girl Isabelle loves her ice-cream

Colouring - Copics

Dies - memory box : picket fence; Pretty Pink Posh : Scallop Borders 1

Paper - Cart-us : Vintage Romance

And I'm off to jump around a bit now.

Flower Power

 Hello blogworld

My word this bank holiday has completely messed with my understanding of what day of the week it is!  Not as bad as in the depths of lockdown when I didn't know what week it was let alone which day - this time the bank holiday has just thrown me off slightly.

Anyways I'm still on my crafting kick, and enjoying it, however it comes with a warning.  I must set myself a monthly spending limit - I'm being tempted with new products all the time.

Having said all that, I only used two new dies on this card - everything else is well old.  The stamp is so old, in fact, that I can't find it at all except 2nd hand on e-bay!

Supplies:

Image - Lili of the Valley: Millie Flower Power (no point in linking as it's no longer around - and I've really searched).

Colouring - Copics

Paper: First Edition - Blank Canvas

Dies: Pretty Pink Posh - Scallop Borders 1 and Lawn Fawn - Happy Birthday Border

Sarah

Wonderful Day

 Hello world,

Well I certainly do wish it was a wonderful day, it definately has been a rainy day which has kept me inside crafting but not sure that I could class it as wonderful!

I'm on a bit of a Stamping Bella kick at the moment, in that when I was going through the many drawers of stamps I have I found a lot of Stamping Bella that I'd never inked up. So I decided to pull out those stamps, open the packets and actually - shock horror - use them!

For a change, as Stamping Bella is still going strong, you can still find the string of stamps I'm going to be sharing unlike recently. I guess, though, even if everyone who follows my blog (hello, Hazel - hope all is well :-) ) contacts me to ask which stamp I'm using I won't be inundated with messages!

So card:

It's a bigger card base than my usual go to square and I found it a little difficult to get a good picture of. Hope the odd angle doesn't put you off too much!

I used:

Image : Stamping Bella - Uptown Girl Bianca loves her Big Cake

Colouring : Copics

Dies: Pretty Pink Posh - Scallop Borders 2

Everything else from my stores.

So I hope everyone else is doing ok, hunkered down in the this darn awful weather.
