Somebody turned 15!

Good morning blogland

Another flying visit, whilst I wait for the oven to warm to cook enough home-made pizza to feed two adults, two 15 year olds and a 14 year old! Guess who turned 15 on Wednesday! Yep, The Troublesome Teen!

This is TTT's big weekend of besties sleepover, which involves second hand clothing shops shopping, home-made pizza to eat and a film of their choice to watch in the cinema room on our big screen. Cinema room sounds posh-er than it is - our house is old (built in 1904) and has two reception rooms, when we re-decorated we turned one from a dining room into 2nd living room with seats looking at a blank wall and a projector to project the TV/video/internet onto said blank wall.  It doesn't have proper cinema chairs or a steady supply of popcorn or an usher to show you to your seat! But it works for us!

So now you know my fun weekend - shepherding 3 teenage girls around a town that has a lot of  charity shops and cooking! It will be fun for TTT and that's what counts, eh when it's your birthday celebrations!

So card - this I made for hubby to give to said TTT.  I'll share the one I made from me during the week.

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Mo's Digital Pencil - The Birthday Girl
coloured with Copics

Rubber stamps:
Catherine Pooler - Happy Birthday Many Ways (sentiment)
taylored expressions - simple strips : birthday (die-cut sentiment)

Dies:
taylored expressions - simple strips : asymmetrical
un-branded stitched rectangle die set

Anything else?
stripy card
extremely old number rub-on
home-made cloud stencil
Distress Ink - milled lavender

And, just for fun, this is a picture of TTT herself - normal expression now whenever I try and take a picture of her! That face, eh - even though we went out for a meal! I'll share picture of the cake I made her when I share the next card.

I'll be back soon,
Signing off for now,
Sarah

Passion for Markers: week 646 - celebrations!

As You Like it Challenge: Fave Feminine or Masculine (and why). Well to be honest I like making both types of cards - it's just I need more feminine than masculine as I mostly make cards for my daughter's friends and they are mostly girls! So feminine out of practicality but I don't really mind either.  (As an aside - you didn't do redheads last week!!!  Poor neglected redheads - I would've joined in if that was an option!!  :-) )

Krafty Chicks Challenge: KCCC #617 - All Occasions Week

Cardz 4 Galz #175 - Die-cuts and or Punches

Seize the Birthday: #241 - Summer Activities - Picnicking in the park!

Vrooom.....

 Hello blogland,

Really quick post just to get this card into a challenge or two.

Had a very busy weekend, thankfully today was quieter, but tomorrow will be busy with 'The Big Birthday' celebrations - I truly can't believe TTT will be 15 on Weds! No idea where the time has gone, which also means my birthday is on the horizon - yuk!

Also can't hang around as out jogging in 15 mins, gotta go get changed and limber up!

So card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Polkadoodles - Sky's the Limit
coloured with Copics

Rubber stamp:
Rare Earth - Sentiments: Inspirational

Dies:
Slimline stitched set

Anything else:
Homemade cloud stencil
Distress Ink
Rhinestone flourish

I know I'm behind with visiting everyone's blogs, I'm hoping to rectify that over this week. Once tomorrows cake making, present wrapping, birthday preparing marathon is done!

Father's Day (or masculine makes)

Good morning blogland,

I'm here with my card for the new challenge starting today over at Sweet Stampin', the theme for the challenge this fortnight is Father's Day or show us your masculine makes.  As always, as we are a stamping challenge, please use some stamping (digital or old fashioned rubber) somewhere on your make.

This time the card I've made is going to be used - can't remember the last time that happened - it's been made for The Best Dad in The House (possibly The World). I always know when it's Father's Day as it falls a couple of days before TTT's birthday - so no excuse for forgetting! It's just as well, also, that he doesn't read my blog otherwise he'd know the card he's getting!

So this is the card I made:

Supplies used:

Digital stamps:

Main Image:
Polkadoodles - Gnome for Men
coloured with my Copics
Sentiment:
Lili of the Valley - Grunge Stamp Sentiments

Dies:
Unbranded stitched rectangle

Anything Else?
extremely old tag embellishment

I do hope you get the chance to pop over to Sweet Stampin' to admire my Teamies cards - which are fabulous as always - and then pop your entry in!

Just a note here as well - this post is scheduled as it's the Big Day Trip out to Skegness for the Birthday Week Celebrations, so I'll be back later tonight (or tomorrow) to check it published and link up to challenges.

Signing off now,
See you soon,
Sarah

Just because

Good morning blogland,

I'm back today to let you know it's the start of a new challenge over at Colour Crazy Craft Challenge and, as always, the theme is Anything Goes, as long as there is something hand coloured on your project.

This week we are sponsored by Jan's Digital Stamps, the Design Team were very kindly allowed to use some of their images and this is my make with Sweetheart Candy.  There is also a sentiment with this set, which I didn't use. As always I coloured the image with my Copics, but for once I fussy cut it out instead of using a whole panel to cover the front of the card!

A bit of stencilling, some stripy paper and some gemstones and card done!

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Jan's Digital Stamps - Sweetheart Candy
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp and die:
Creative Expressions - Bold Shadowed Stamp and Die Set : BECAUSE

Stencil:
Pretty Pink Posh - Layered Hearts stencil

Anything else:
striped paper
gem hearts
Distress Oxide and Ink
blending brush

Hope you get a chance to pop over to the challenge and see the fabulous cards my fellow Teamies have made, and then maybe join in with the challenge as well.  There's always prizes on offer and you never know, you might just win!

Signing off for now, but back again tomorrow!
See you soon,
Sarah

Dino the Dragon

Good evening blogland,

And another long absence! Life just seems to be full of little things happening that add up to big things and then get in the way of my crafting. I do not approve!

This card is for the new challenge over at Colour Crazy Craft Challenge, where, as always, the theme is Anything Goes, as long as there is some hand colouring on your entry!  This week our sponsor is Connie Fong and the Design Team were very kindly allowed to use a digi or two from the shop - I couldn't resist this little cutie!

Things are still going to be a little on the busy side for the next couple of weeks, as we build up to the 15th birthday celebrations for TTT.  The celebrations themselves are fairly low key, however, so far, there's a trip planned to Scunthorpe this Sat to go to an Asian supermarket for more Japanese groceries, then a trip to Skegness next Sat to the local fun-fair, a birthday meal on the day itself (mid-week) and, finally, a sleep over and shopping trip to Horncastle for the charity shops! Phew! It's not even a birthday week, it's a birthday fortnight!

Plus add in researching and buying birthday presents, oh and Father's Day, and I spent 2 hours in the hairdressers Thurs afternoon (going highlighted blonde and pink!), I think you might see how life has got busy!

Anyhows, now that I've got that off my chest - onto card.

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Connie Fong - Torri the Dragon - Up
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
taylored expressions - Think Happy Thoughts

Dies:
Matching taylored expressions die to the stamp set
un-branded stitched rectangle

Anything else:
spotty paper
home made cloud stencil
Momento ink

I do hope you can find time to pop over to the challenge and take a peek at my Teamies cards - they are gorgeous!

I'm going now, I think I've probably waffled on for long enough, so I'll just say, hope you all are well and getting some time to craft!

It's the first Saturday of the month - which means it's also time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge, with the theme being a simple Anything Goes ones and we are sponsored by the always adorable All Dressed Up Stamps.

The Design Team were going to be allowed to pick a stamp to use, but I already have quite a few (ahem! - read 'a lot') of these digis so I went with one I already have.

Not sure on the frame around the image as it came out of my box of scraps
