Men and boys

 Hello blogland

It's Tuesday and we all know what means - it's a new challenge time over at Passion for Markers, and his week we are sponsored by Doctor Digi's House of Stamps, with the theme being 'Masculine'.

It's actually my turn to pick the theme this week, so I am fingers crossed we get some entries, bearing in mind it was Father's Day a weekend ago, I'm a little worried everyone is 'masculined' out!  Also please do remember this is a markers challenge - so use your markers otherwise you'll not be in the draw for the prize.

Doctor Digi's always lets the DT have a pick, or two, of their images to use, and this is the card I made with my pick:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Doctor Digi's House of Stamps - Man about the House
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
Creative Craft Products - Funny Sentiments

Dies:
Creative Expressions - Noble Collection : Double Stitched Squares
My Favorite Things: Inside and Out Stitched Rectangles

Paper:
echo park - A Boy's Life

Finally:
a very old piece of paper twine

Please do pop on over to the blog - my Teamies have made smashing cards and while you're there you could pop in a card yourself, if you feel like it! :-)

See you soon,
Sarah

All dies no punches

Morning blogland

It's rolled around to Tuesday again and so it's time for my DT card at the new Passion for Markers challenge.

This week the theme was picked by Marlene who chose 'Dies and / or Punches' and our sponsor is Dr Digi's House of Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a prize of 2 digi stamps. As always this is a colouring challenge - so anything can be made and linked but you must have used markers on your project somewhere and followed the theme.

This is my card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Dr Digi's House of Stamps - DumBell Derek
coloured with  my Copics

Rubber stamp:
Taylored Expressions: Simple Strips - Man, Myth, Legend

Dies:
Creative Expressions: Noble Collection - Double Stitched Squares
Memory Box - Trellis Border
MFT Stamp - Inside and Out stitched circles
Taylored Expressions: Simple Strips - well rounded

Paper:
echo park - A Boy's Life

Anything else:
Craftwork Cards - paper dots
some white paint and a paintbrush to splatter the black card
white gel pen for highlights

And that's it folks - there are some fabulous cards on display made by me Teamies over at the challenge and I'm looking forward to seeing everything you make too!

See you later,
Sarah

Challenge time!

Good morning blogland,

It's rolled around another week, who would believe it!, to another Tuesday and so here I am with my Design Team post for Passion for Markers blog challenge.

This week we are sponsored by Dr Digi's and our lovely Teamie Marlene has picked the theme of 'Dry Embossing'. As always it's two very simple rules to join in the fun, use your markers and follow the theme.  If you do that you are in the prize draw for a great prize from our sponsor.

This is what I came up with:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamp:
Dr Digi's House of Stamps - Homebrew Herman
coloured with my Copics (what else!)

Rubber stamp:
taylored expressions - Simple Strips: Man, Myth, Legend

Dies:
Creative Expressions - Noble Collection: Double Stitched Squares
My Favorite Things - In & Out Stitched Circle

Embossing folders:
Lisa Horton Crafts - 3D Embossing Folder: Numerical
indentz - A6 Embossing Folder: Ellipse

And that's it folks - a simple, monochromatic, masculine birthday card.  It's the first time I'd used the Lisa Horton embossing folder, must say it gives a very definite impression! I wondered though why call it 3D? Isn't that the same as any embossing folder? Am I missing something very simple here? I'm not surprised if I am, I usually do!!

Right I'm off now, my new home gym is calling and, after around 18months out, I need to answer the call!

See you soon.

Dad Dancing

Good morning blogland,

As promised (or threatened?) I'm back again super quick!

This post is to let you all know there's a new challenge over starting today at Colour Crazy Craft Challenge - as always the theme is Anything Goes.  Please remember though, as it's a colouring challenge, we only accept anything that has some hand colouring part to it.

This week the challenge is sponsored by Doctor Digi, who very kindly allowed us to pick an image to use.  I was very happy to be able to use Dad Dancing and isn't it a brilliant image! The Best Dad in the World in our house doesn't dance - but I'm sure if he did he'd do something like this and TTT would be doing exactly the same thing, though, probably with added rolling eyes! And you've got to use a sarcastic tone in your internal voice when you read the sentiment - TTT would certainly be doing that!

This is my make:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Doctor Digi - Dad Dancing
coloured with Copics

Rubber stamp:
Taylored Expressions - Simple Strips: Birthday

Dies:
Taylored Expressions - Simple Strips: Well rounded
Un-branded stitched die rectangles

Anything else?
Computer generated sentiment (DAD The Man, The Myth, The Legend.)
Striped card

What I did:
Re-sized the digi and created a sentiment above it with Word then printed out, on Copic friendly paper, and coloured in the image.
Die-cut out the coloured image and striped card with co-ordinating dies from the set.
Glued the striped card to the card blank, then glued the coloured image to the striped card.
Finally added 3d foam to the die-cut sentiment and attached that to the coloured image.
et voila, job done!

Would love if you could find time to pop over to the challenge and join in - I love looking at other peoples cards and my Teamies have created some great inspiration to kick off the creative juices!

Right I'm off now and will be back tomorrow!

See you soon,
Signing off,
Sarah

It's all new!

Good morning blogland and Happy New Year!

Anyone aware it's the 1st of January 2022? I bet there's one or two who know and I hope there aren't too many sore heads from last night's parties! I'm not a late night person so I'm sure I'll be in bed long before the bells ring in the New Year. However, with being an early to bed person, I'm also an early to rise person - so while this scheduled post appears I'll no doubt be at the beach going for my first jog of 2022!

Now onto the reason for this post - as well as it being the 1st day of the New Year it's also the first challenge of the year for Sweet Stampin'! The theme this challenge is 'New' - so either new goodies - stamps/pens/papers, anything! Or there's always a card to celebrate the New Year, a new baby, new house or any other 'new' happening.

For my contribution I've used a new digi, new sentiment stamp and celebrated 'a' new year - not The New Year - hubby's birthday, which is also a new decade (which he's a bit touchy about!).

This is my card:

I used:
Digi stamp:
Dr. Digi's - Napping Neville (new!)
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamps (sentiments)
Rare Earth - Inspirational (new!)
Catherine Pooler - All Around Wishes (for Happy Birthday)

Anything else:
Anna Marie Designs - striped paper
Creative Expressions - Noble collection: double stitched squares

What I did:
Re-sized and printed the digi onto Copic friendly paper, coloured in with my Copics and fussy cut out.
Stamped the sentiments onto some linen card and die-cut it out with the stitched die. Also die-cut a piece of stripy paper with the same die, then tore off the top edge.
Stuck the paper to the panel, then used 3d foam to add it to the card blank,
Finally added 3d foam to the image and added that to the top of everything.
et voila, job done!

Am so hoping that 2022 is much better than the last couple years - we've been incredibly lucky not (so far) to have been made ill by Covid-19 but, my goodness, the isolation and being unable to go anywhere is really getting to me now.  Anyhoo, enough being miserable.

On a happier note my Teamies have made some really gorgeous cards for this challenge, please pop over and take a look. I also really like wandering about everyone's blogs and seeing what you talented lot come up with for our themes - just remember, as it's a stamping challenge, there has to be stamping on your project somewhere!

Signing off now,
See you soon,
Sarah

Friday, December 3, 2021

Hey, hot stuff!

 Good morning blogland,

Well it's an early start for me today as I have exciting news! Not only was I recently picked as a Top 3 over at Colour Crazy Craft Challenge (which in itself is absolutely brilliant) but I was also invited, along with the winner and other Top 3, to be a Guest Design Team member for three months!

Now, how could I say no when the challenge is all about one of my most absolute top favourite things to do (other than stamping!) colouring. So, of course I said yes and here I am!

I'm not officially supposed to start my GDT for another couple of weeks, but when I saw the digis the Team had been very kindly supplied by the Sponsor for this week's challenge, I was allowed to jump straight in!

The Sponsor is Doctor Digi's House of Stamps and they have a great prize for the winner. The challenge theme is always Anything Goes but please remember it is a colouring challenge and so hand coloured images only.

And this is my card I made with one of the images:

Supplies used:

Digital Image:
Doctor Digi - Knitty Nora
coloured with Copics

Rubber sentiment stamp / die :
Taylored Expressions
Sentiment stamp: Simple Strips - Birthday
Die: Simple Strips - Well Rounded

Anything else:
Scrap of Patterned Paper
Doodlebug Design Inc - Paper frills

What I did:
Printed out the digital stamp and coloured her in with my Copics, then fussy cut her out.
Took a scrap of patterned paper (no idea whose) glued it to the bottom third of my card blank and ran a strip of paper frill over the top join.
Added some 3d foam to the digi stamp and popped her onto the card.
Added 3d foam to the stamped then die-cut sentiment and popped it onto the bottom of the card blank.

et voila, job done!

Why not pop over to Colour Crazy and see what my awesome new teamies have created and you could even join in at the same time!  I'm sure you know I love seeing what all you colourists out there can do and I'm sooo looking forward to going around everyone's blogs who enter into Colour Crazy Challenge!

I'm off now to have a quiet lie-down and get over the excitement of being asked to GDT! (Ha, I re-read this and thought I was off to have a G&T! Not at 8am in the morning, missus!!!).

Signing off now,
See you soon,
Sarah
