Boo!

 Morning blogworld,

This post is for the new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge, where the theme this month is 'Halloween'. We are sponsored by Oddball Art who allowed the DT their pick of an image and have supplied the Challenge with a lovely prize for this months' winner.

I believe I've said this before, but I'm not really into celebrating Halloween - it wasn't a thing when I was little.  As I've grown up to me Halloween has just been an inconvenience, mostly silly string on the letter box to be cleaned up and kids knocking over bins.  We tried when Emily was little but, nah not really our 'thing' as it were.

Colour me surprised then when, somehow, this year I've made three Halloween cards! All for Design Teams and sharing over the next couple of weeks, but (count them) three!!! And enjoyed making them too - I'm sure wonders will never cease!

Card number one follows:

 Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
OddBall Art - Glitter Bones
coloured with my Copics

Patterned Paper:
echo park - Chillingsworth Manor

Dies:
un-branded alphabet set
un-branded stitched rectangle set
Die-namics - Wavy edge

I do hope you find time to pop over to the challenge and check out my Teamies work - there are some suitably wonderful spooky makes over there!

Be back soon,
Sarah

Intergalatic Starjumper!

 Good morning blogland

As it's the first Saturday of the month, I'm here with a new challenge for you from Crafty Calendar Challenge and our theme this month is Anything But Square.  This month we are sponsored by Oddball Art, who very kindly allowed the DT to choose some images from the shop.

I found this an interesting one, considering that one of my most used card blanks is a 6x6" square! I could've gone for my second most used card blank of a 5x7" top fold rectangle, but decided (in a moment of inspiration that I later regretted) to push the boat out and use a round card blank!

This my card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
Taylored Expressions - Simple Strips: Friendship

Dies:
Taylored Expressions - Simple Strips: Asymmetrical
Spellbinders - Grand Nestabilities - Scalloped Circles

Anything else:
White gel pen
Stickles glitter glue

The circle card base idea went slightly wrong, as when I made the base I ended up with the fold in the wrong place and everything went off-kilter, I really do need some large plain circle dies if I'm going to attempt this again!  TTT wandered in as I was cursing the world, said it's not wrong it's 'quirky' - so let's say that was my original intention, shall we and close that chapter of this make!

You really should pop over to the challenge blog - my Teamies absolutely smashed this challenge (their cards aren't 'quirky!) and made much better shaped cards than I have! I'm also looking forward to seeing all the entries as I can only imagine there will be some brilliant takes on this theme!

Signing off now,
See you later,
Sarah

Time to get spooky!

Good morning blogland,

Can you believe it's the first weekend in October already! As it is the first Saturday of the month I'm here to share my make for the new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge - and this month the theme is Halloween, so all your spooky makes if you please!

Our sponsor for this challenge is:

The Design Team were allowed to pick images from the shop and this is my make with two of the images that were chosen:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamps:
and
Coloured with Copics

What I did:

Re-sized and printed the digi stamps onto Copic friendly paper.
I drew around a lid to give me the outline of a moon, then coloured in the two images with my Copics.
Next I coloured the sky and ground and used my white pen to create the stars (which Hubby thought was snow!).
Finally I mounted the panel onto some red card and then onto the card blank.

I'm not too unhappy with how it all turned out, although I feel I could've blended the colours around the moon a little better.  Even TTT was impressed when she saw it - she couldn't quite believe the her mother had created a whole scene!

So, why not pop over to the Challenge - have a look at what my Teamies have created and enter something yourself! We would love to see you!

Signing off,
Sarah
