More Hearts!

Good morning blogland,

Here I am again and with more hearts and red! This time I'm sharing a card for the new challenge at Passion for Markers where the theme this week is 'Use red and/or hearts'. We are sponsored by Dies to Die For with a great prize of a £15.00 voucher for the lucky winner.

For my card I turned to one of my favourite designers - Mo Manning - and dug out this sneaky heart thief image that I had brought years ago and never used. I do love Mo's images, they are such fun to colour!

Supplies Used:

Digital stamp:
Mo's Digital Pencil - Stole my Heart
coloured with my Copics
I made the sentiment myself in Publisher

Dies:
Pretty Pink Posh - Scallop Borders 1

Patterned Papers:
echo park - Be Mine

Anything else:
flat backed pearls

So I hope to see lots of red and hearts on all your entries - quite appropriate with Valentines coming up!

See you soon,
Sarah

Valentines

Good morning blogland

It's time for a new challenge from Sweet Stampin' and this fortnight we'd like to see all your Valentines makes.  Obviously, as always, we need to see some stamped element in your project but it doesn't need to be a card.

I'm still experimenting with the American sized cards and old un-used stamps - so this is my make for this fortnight:

Supplies used:

Stamps:
Whimsy Stamps - Keeper of Hearts
coloured with my Copics

Dies:
Creative Craft Products - A2 card blank
My Favorite Things - Stitched Rectangle Set and Fishtail Foundations
Pretty Pink Posh - Love you script

This is not the last time you'll see me today - so come back in an hour or so for another card.

Hope you find some time to pop over to the challenge and join in with us!

Sarah

Challenge/s:

As You See It: Challenge #316 - My latest craft purchase - is the A2 card blank die set from Creative Craft Products.  I'm experimenting with smaller sized cards for my older smaller rubber stamps.

CAS on Sunday: Challenge #276 - Valentine

Tic Tac Toe Challenge: TTTC #240 - I used middle column - Kraft / Die-cut / Markers (or pencils)

Happy to be here

Good morning blogland

I'll wait a moment while you all get over your shock at seeing a post from me pop up, then I'll carry on!

I did not mean at all to leave it so long between posts, I've had a few weeks of it! I'll not bore you with the gory detail just Internet problems, printer problems, child problems = either no time to craft or not able to craft or no way to share what I have made with you all.

Hopefully that is all behind me now and I'll be trying my hardest to get back my routines back, admittedly this week is half-term which has already scuppered my gym routines but, that to one side, I will be posting more regularly.

Oh just to reassure you all child problems are, on a relative scale, minor ones. TTT did something to the finger of one hand (she says she doesn't know how) and ended up in our local emergency care centre (used to be A&E but times move on) twice in two weeks! It's all healing now and the next big shake up is GCSE's in 12 weeks time.  Stress over revision and grades is the main thing on her plate right now and therefore on our plates also.

Moving onto more pleasant things - here is my February new release inspiration card for All Dressed Up,  Hope you like!

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - Valentines Boy
coloured with my Copics

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangles
Creative Expressions : mini expressions - you make me happy

Papers:
Dovecraft - Sugar and Spice
striped card

Anything else:
paper twine
scrap of Kraft card

I think I've done enough waffling for now, so I'm off! Hopefully I'll see again sooner rather than later!

Sarah

Challenges:

Passion for Markers: week 676 - add a heart

Crafty Catz: #624 - Anything Goes / add a little love

Gem of a Challenge: Wk3 - Anything Goes

So not Valentines!

Afternoon blogland,

So, this is Valentine's Day, is it? Has to be said not something that is particularly bothered with in our house. Hubby gets me (and TTT) a bunch of flowers, but he does that even when there isn't any real reason to, so you can't say it's because it's Valentine's Day. Personally I think it's all rather over-rated, but then (as the two significant others in my household keep telling me) I'm a bit of a grump!

Having said all that, I did still make cards over the weekend that feature hearts and cuteness and a teddy and a 'love monster'.  I'll share one today and another in my next post - don't want to overwhelm you with too much lovey dovey stuff!

I reasoned that as neither card says Valentine's on it, they could be for anything and I just really wanted to colour the images! Of course, I did offer them, again, as Valentines' cards to TTT - but, again, they were turned down.  She doesn't like teddies or dinosaurs (even though I pointed out it was a monster not dinosaur) and also she and 'The Boyfriend' have agreed not to exchange cards.  Cards are just a pointless waste of natural resources - oh dear!

So here is card No 1, which shall be known as 'The Teddy':

Supplies used:
Digital image:
Lee Holland Art - Teddy with Heart
coloured with Copics

Dies:
Un-branded stitched rectangle
My Favorite Things - Die-namics: Inside out stitched circles

Paper:
My Mind's Eye - Lucky in Love

Anything Else:
Linen card
white gel pen
ages old chipboard embellishment
Pretty Pink Posh - layered hearts stencil
Distress Ink

What did I do?
Used Word to re-size the digi image, then printed out onto Copic friendly paper, coloured in with my Copics (added highlight with white gel pen) and fussy cut out.
Die-cut a rectangle from the linen card, then cut a corner out with the circular die.
Stencilled hearts over that panel with the Pretty Pink Posh stencil and some Distress Ink.
Glued patterned paper to the back of the panel and glued it all to the card blank.
Popped the teddy onto 3d foam and attached it over the patterned paper.
Added the chipboard embellishment as shown on the linen card.
et voila, job done!

To my mind the 'fall in love - forever' embellishment comes across as a bit sinister. We're going to be together forever (maniacal laughter follows) but then I have a very dark sense of humour and a cynical / grumpy mindset - I'm sure to everyone else it's a lovely sentiment!

Also the picture is very light - I'm still playing with the settings on the light box and find I can't leave it at one setting for every card, works for darker backgrounds but my lighter cards end up being a bit washed out.  I'm learning!!

So hope everyone who does 'do' Valentines has a lovely day - and if you don't 'do' Valentines, have an even lovelier day!! :-)

Signing off now,
See you soon,
Sarah

Challenge /s:

The Cutie Pie Challenge Blog: Challenge #168 Theme - Hearts and Flowers. Lots of hearts, no flowers! :-)

Use your Stuff: #441 - Hearts/Love. The paper is many years old (maybe 7/8?) and I've got two packs of it as I liked it that much! The embellishment will be around the same sort of age, if not older (and I'm running out of them - very bad!).
