Layering up

Morning blogland,

Couple of days late with this post - TTT and I were travelling all day Saturday and then Sunday was a full-on day of washing and sorting - now catching up with everything I missed last week / weekend.

This post is for the new challenge over at Crafty Calendar which runs for the whole of September with a theme of 'Lots of Layers'.  We do have a sponsor this time,  the fabulous Polkadoodles with a great prize for one lucky winner.

So moving onto my card, this was made for TTT's18th birthday in June and not shared until now.

Supplies used:

Digital stamps:
Character: an Etsy seller called zekesami -  Mia
coloured with my Copics
Balloons: an Etsy seller called ClipArt Vogue - 18th Birthday Balloons
pre-coloured

Rubber stamp and matching die:
taylored expressions - Simple Strips: Die - well rounded and Stamp - Birthdays

Dies:
Creative Expressions - Centre Stepper Die Set
Pretty Pink Posh - Eyelet Borders

Papers:
First Edition - Let's Celebrate
Random scraps of card

And I think that's it really,

See you soon,
Sarah

Say it with...

Sentiments!

Hello blogland,

Here we are another month into 2025 - can you believe it's June already, I know I blooming well can't! This is a busy month in our house - it's full on A Level exams, a 6th Form Leavers Prom and an 18th birthday (not  mine I hasten to add!).

It's also a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge, this month the theme is 'Add a Sentiment' (hence my opening gambit) and the lovely prize on offer is:

Onto my creation - and I say creation as it's not a card this month.  I'm having a spot of bother with my printer so this project and the next were done entirely minus a printer - takes me back so it does!  I really hadn't realised just how much I rely on my digis and printer.

Anyways, this is a money wallet made using a die and that's it really folks.  I thought it was appropriate as it's pretty much all sentiment and this is it:

Opening it up:

Fully open / inside:

Supplies used:

Die:
Creative Craft Products - Giftables: all-occasion money wallet die set

Anything else:
black card
red card
Icelandic Krona (for illustrative purposes!)

If there's anyone left reading my blog - you should really head on over to the challenge, my Teamies have been much more inventive than me and their cards are fabby!

So, that's really it folks - I'm away to do dinner,
See you soon,
Sarah

Children

Hello Blogland

And again I'm so behind with posting - this time I'm taking responsibility for not getting posts up. I'll explain what's going on after I catch up with things that I was meant to do.

With it being a new month - well relatively now - there's a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge with the theme for May being 'for a child'.  We don't have sponsors anymore but there is, instead, always a lovely prize on offer and this the prize for May.

So the rules for this challenge are always super simple - follow the theme and create something!

OK, so my card, it's not at all like I normally make (partially time constraints, partially I was rummaging!) so I'm warning you if you're looking for stamping it's not here! This is it:

From the outside:

From the inside:

Supplies used:

Pretty much everything:
Kanban - Patchwork Pals

The only other thing I used was a My Favorite Things Die-namic die - 'Big Hugs'

The only explanation for this card I can give is that I was rummaging for something else and came across a whole drawer of Kanban stuff - which I think I brought off of the TV shopping channel Create and Craft probably around 12 to 15 years ago.  I used some, didn't like most of it, and dumped it in the drawer of doom and that's where it stayed until now.

Anyways for a theme of 'for a child' I thought it worked perfectly.

I'm off now to do all those Saturday things that don't get done during the week - which also includes catching up on other posts and then the domestic stuff like washing and cleaning and inducing a nearly 18 year old to get out of bed!

A final note, please pop on over to the challenge - my Teamies have made some lovely cards and it would be a shame to miss them.

Playing serious catch-up here

 Good evening blogland,

I have to be honest and say, as you've probably noticed, that I'm not doing much with my blog at the minute.  What with working (supposedly part-time but more like 3/4 time just recently) and running around taking TTT to Uni Open Days and Offer Holder Days over the last few months, I've not had that much time, or that much inclination to blog.  So I've been scheduling posts and then not really coming back to the blog in-between times - that system is wonderful when it works, I've just noticed it's not been working perfectly!

I seem to missing two cards for one challenge and one (possibly more I'm going to have to check) for another challenge. It appears I've been a bit silly and the mistake is that I'm rushing and I think I've put the wrong year for the post to be published! But now double checking that I'm not sure it is that and if it isn't I've no idea what I've done - maybe it's Blogger not me!

So I'm here to play catch-up with the latest Crafty Calendar Challenge and then I'll do a separate post with the other cards I've missed.

The current challenge theme for this month (just to be clear that is April 2025!) is 'Feminine' - this is a very easy going challenge, no special rules or use something in particular, just create something crafty and share it.

To follow the theme of my running out of time, this is a card I made but never shared.

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Saturated Canary - Teensized
coloured with my Copics

Rubber Stamps:
Whimsy Stamps - Fantabulous phrases

Anything else:
a Honey Doo stencil
Distress Inks
Blender brush
dotty card
pearl drops

Confession time over now! Let's hope that I manage to keep up with Challenges and manage to blog on time now that I know what I'm doing wrong - but, me being me, I doubt it!

I'll be back shortly, in the meantime thanks for bearing with me and why not pop over to the Challenge blog and pop in an entry. you'd be most welcome!

Sarah

It's all hearty!

OK, so this obviously didn't post - trying again!

Welcome to the start of February everyone and with it being the start of February it's also the start of a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge and this month the challenge theme is 'Hearts'.   There is a lovely prize on offer for one lucky winner and my Teamies have made some lovely cards!

Here's my contribution:

Supplies used:

Rubber stamps:
Lili of the Valley - Sweet Wishes
coloured with my Copics
Honey Bee Stamps - 'Hugs'
Whimsy Stamps - '&'

Dies:
Picket Fence Stamps - Kisses for you

Anything else:
Copic fineliner for the doodling

Love these new Lili of the Valley stamps - but they are on the smaller side and I do love my big images to colour! Am going to have to be more inventive with my card designs.

Hope everyone is well.  We are in full blown mocks / 'A' level revisions / Uni searching mode here.  TTT has had a couple of offers in from Universities (Hull and Lincoln) and is waiting on a couple more to study Psychology this September!  Sometimes it doesn't seem real that she's going to be moving out in September and other times it feels like it's going to be tomorrow.  I will not know what to do with myself - it's only taken me 18 years to get used to her and now she's on her way!!!

Right enough waffle from me, see you later.
Sarah

Hello, 2025!

Good morning blogland,

Here I am and here we are - first post of 2025! I hope everyone had as good a Christmas and New Year as was possible.  Ours never really changes it's always very quiet - for both occasions - and (let's be honest here!) a tad boring. Not religious, don't do late nights and just us three for family - so hey, what'd I expect!

Still that can all be put behind us now and we move on, and in the moving on here's my first Design Team card of this year! We kick off 2025 with a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge with a theme of 'Add a die cut', no sponsor for this one but there is a prize on offer.

Now I do love my dies and I might have just a few, so this one is right up my street and I didn't stop at one die cut, oh no - you've got loads!

Supplies used:

Rubber stamp:
Time for Tea - Let's Party
coloured with my Copics

Dies:
Creative Craft Products - A2 Essentials Landscape Card Die set
Time for Tea - Smile Inverted Scallop Frame set
Time for Tea - Hey Hello Hi Sentiment Die set

Anything else:
white gel pen
blue striped blue light-weight card

I realise it's probably a little odd to pair that sentiment with that image and even I had a different sentiment to begin with, but I saw that 'hello' and thought 'oooh, I like that!' and went with it!

Aaand that's about it for my first post of 2025 - I look forward to posting many more times over the next year!

See you soon,
Sarah

Who turned 17 then!

Well sometime ago now - but it was TTT!

Good morning blogland,

It's the first Saturday of the month, and so it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge, this month we are sponsored by Lawn Fawn with a great prize for one lucky winner!

The theme is also easy this month - we're doing 'Anything Goes', doesn't really need explaining that does it! My card is one from the recent vault - it's the second one I made for my daughter's 17th birthday that was in June and I'm sharing in November.  For me, that's actually quite quick!

And here it is:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp (and matching die)
taylored expressions - Simple Strips: Birthday
die-cut with Simple Strips: asymmetrical

Anything else:
'birthday' embossing folder
Distress Inks and blending brush
glitter / sequins
largish piece of acetate to create the full front shaker
very old chipboard numbers

The image is very much my daughter - laptop always on the go and a black cat hanging around somewhere close. The only difference is we don't have a great big armchair like this one, wish we did though it looks very comfy!

It's also the first time I've tried a full front shaker card, not as hard as I'd thought to make, but my goodness the glitter I added was a beggar for escaping!

And that's it folks, it is a very easy theme and a lovely prize- my Teamies are wonderful crafters and their inspirations are fabulous.

See you soon,
Sarah

Late to the party

 Evening blogland,

This should have been posted on Saturday, to coincide with the new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge but I obviously pressed the wrong button and it didn't happen.  So here's the post as it should have been:

After a bit of break Crafty Calendar Challenge is back!  This month there's no sponsor, but a lovely prize for one lucky winner and an easy peasy challenge theme of 'Anything goes'.  For this challenge I decided to share on the birthday cards I'd made for TTT when she turned 17 in June.

Here it is:

Supplies used:

Rubber stamp:
The Stamp Hut - Linda Ravenscroft: Gothic Fairies
coloured with my Copics
Woodware - Just Words (sentiment)

Anything else:
Home made cloud stencil
Distress Inks
blending brush
very old chipboard numbers

I always make her two cards for both Christmas and birthdays - I will share the other one at some other point, hopefully before her next birthday!

Hope everyone is doing well so, until the next time
Cheers for now,
Sarah

Saturday, August 3, 2024

Oh so quiet!

Good morning blogland

Can you believe it's August already, it really feels like this year is just flying, but as it is August (and the first Saturday) it's time for the new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  We don't have a sponsor for this month but instead have a prize of a set of 2 Studio Light 'Grunge' stamps and an 'Anything Goes' theme.

This means the Design Team could use and make whatever they felt like however, as I'm still super busy at work, I had to dip into the vault to find a card I've not shared before.  I made this one for TTT's 16th birthday last year, but never got round to sharing. Here it is now:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamp:
Some Odd Girl - Cat Lady Kaylee
coloured with my Copics when I also made her a floor to sit on

Rubber stamp:
taylored expressions - Simple Strips: Birthday

Dies:
taylored expressions - Simple Strips: Asymmetrical
un-branded stitched rectangle set

Anything else:
Pretty Pink Posh  - Layered Hearts
Distress Ink
blending brush

And that's it for card stuff.

On a personal note TTT is now at the end of her first week on the London residential Summer School for Psychologists in UCL.  She was really tired and homesick at the beginning but seems to have settled down now and is enjoying learning about all the different careers you can have as a Psychologist.

It is very quiet here though with just me and TBDH left at home.  A small taster of what it will be like when she heads off to University this time next year!

That is actually it from me now,
See you later,
Sarah

Being sentimental

 Morning blogland,

It's the first Saturday of the month - July already! Whose stolen 2024, I can't believe we are 6 months in already! So that means there's a new challenge over at the Crafty Calendar Challenge blog and this month our theme is 'Add a sentiment'.

This month our lovely sponsor is SheepSki Designs, with a great prize for the lucky winner.  As always our Challenge blog accepts all sorts of crafts - you just have to follow the theme!

I was kindly allowed to choose a digital stamp and this is the card I made with that digi:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamp:
SheepSki Designs - Whisper
coloured with my Copics

Rubber Stamps:
Concord & 9th - Fashion Shoppe Stamp Set
Catherine Pooler - Just Plain Fabulous Sentiments Stamp Set

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangle dies set

For the littl 'uns

 Good morning Blogland

Just a flyer from me for today - it's the first Saturday of a new month (arrrgghh June already!) and so it's also time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  For this month the theme is 'For a Child' and we are sponsored by Rachelle Anne Miller (RAM Stamps).

The Design Team were very lucky to be given some Digi Stamps to play with and this is my make with one of them:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamp:

RAM Stamps - Giraffe Hug
coloured with my Copics

Rubber Sentiment Stamp:
My Favorite Things - I'll Love You Forever

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangle
Pretty Pink Posh - Scallop Borders 2

Anything else:
very old piece of patterned paper

This was meant to be for a new baby - but looking at it, I'm not entirely sure that works! Hey, ho - some we win, some we lose!

See you soon,
Sarah

Thanks for

Good morning blogland

Can you believe another month has gone by - I honestly don't know where 2024 is going to.  It's not going to be long before I'm cardmaking for TTT's 17th birthday and then it's into school Summer Holidays! My goodness, what a thought!

As another month has gone by, it means it's time for the new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge. This month we're sponsored by the wonderful Di's Digital Stamps with a great prize of $6 to spend in the shop. It's also a very easy challenge theme this month of 'Anything Goes'.

The Design Team were allowed to choose images to use and this is my card with one of those images. As always these days I was running out of time to make my card, so I used a pre-coloured image which feels a little like cheating, but quickness was of the essence!

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Di's Digi Stamps: Koala Flowers
a pre-coloured digi (which I flipped for better placement on my card)

Rubber stamps:
taylored expressions - 'In & Out - Thanks'

Dies:
unbranded stitched rectangles
Pretty Pink Posh - Scalloped Borders

Anything else:
MDF flower embellishment
Aaand, again, that's it folks,

I'll be back again at some point, hope to see you when I do re-surface!

Sarah

Today's your day

 Good morning blogland,

It's a new month so it's also time for a new post and a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge, this month we'd like to see your creations with the theme of  'Dry/Wet Embossed' and our lovely sponsor for this challenge is All Dressed Up Stamps.

I ended up going with the dry embossing side of the challenge, can't honestly remember the last time I got either my heat gun or embossing powders out, but it still caused me no end of problems.  Got there eventually and this is my card:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamp:
All Dressed Up - Wellie Boots
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
taylored expressions - 'It's Your Day'

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangles
Pretty Pink Posh - Eyelet Borders

Embossing folder:
taylored expressions - Graphic Impressions: Birthday

And that's it folks - hope everyone is well, and please go join in with the challenge, it'll be fun!

See you soon,
Sarah

 And I'm back again!

This time I'm here with a card for the February challenge at Crafty Calendar Challenge, for this challenge we are sponsored by the wonderful Sheep Ski Designs, who is giving us a great prize for the lucky winner. The Design Team were also allowed a free choice of image to use for our makes.

The theme this month is 'Add a heart', so we need to see a heart somewhere on your entry - which doesn't need to be a card, it can be anything you've made, just make sure there's a heart there somewhere!

This is my card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
SheepSki Designs - Bob
coloured with my Copics
(I made the sentiment myself in Publisher)

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangle die set

Stencil:

Anything else:

Anything goes!

Aaand a second Good Morning to you blogworld!

Just so happens that there are two challenges starting today that I'm in the DT of, and if you are looking for the Sweet Stampin' one it's in the previous post.  If you are looking for the post for the new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge then this is the post for you!

So what's happening for the first challenge for Crafty Calendar of 2024? It is a nice easy one to get those creative juices flowing - it's 'Anything Goes' and we have a prize from the lovely Polkadoodles for our lucky winner of this challenge.  In addition the Design Team were allowed to pick an image to use - this is my card with my image:

Supplies used:

Digital image:
Polkadoodles - Love you this much
zoomed in and coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
Neat and Tangled - Love notes

Dies:
Creative Expressions - Sue Wilson: Noble Collection - double stitched squares
Time for Tea - Love Intertwined

Anything else:
Designer paper - First Edition: Love Letters
acetate and sparkly stuff!
black card

Here's a second look at the 'sparkly stuff'!

I'm not so sure on the colouring of the rabbit on this one - even TTT said it looked like I'd starting colouring him/her(?) with hair and then changed my mind! I do, however, like how the T-shirt came out and the design, I may even add a sparkly shaker card with an oversized image to my repertoire!

That is definitely that from me today - but, again, I will be back quicker than you think!

In the meantime, I strongly encourage you to come join in with the challenges - either one!! :-) - they both have some fabulous inspiration from my fabulous Teamies and we'd love to see you there.

See you soon,
Sarah

The Design Team were given super cute digis to use and this is the card I made with my choice:

Supplies Used:

Digital Stamp:

Anything else:

I hope you get a chance to pop over to the challenge blog and take a look at my Teamies work, it's fantastic you know! Then, while you're there, why not pop in an entry yourself, there's a lovely prize to be won.

New challenge time

 Good morning blogland,

Hard to believe it's the beginning of November - this year seems to be just flying by and Christmas is hurtling towards us!

As it is the beginning of new month, it is also the beginning of a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge, it's an easy one this month as the theme of the challenge is 'Anything Goes'.  We are sponsored by the wonderful Polkadoodles and the prize on offer to one lucky winner is digital images from the store!

The DT were lucky enough to be given images to work with and this is my make with one of those images:

Supplies used:

Digital image:
This time the image was pre-coloured, which made for super quick cardmaking - perfect if it's a rush order! I only used a Cool Grey Copic to add some extra shading to the digi.

Rubber stamps:
Time For Tea - Bold Sentiments Stamp

Stencils:
Polkadoodles - Great Outdoors and Grass Lawn

Anything else:
Distress Inks
red card

Sorry I've been AWOL for a little bit.  I've started a job part-time to help a friend out when her colleague went on maternity leave and I've also had a bit of a winter sun holiday with TTT - so busy with things other than crafting.  Should settle into the 'new' normal soon and then I'm back at the old card making!

Please do pop on over to the challenge - my Teamies cards are fabulous and, if you enter, you're in with a chance at a fab prize!

And that's it folks!

See you soon,
Sarah

Autumn Colours

Good morning blogland

I'm here with my DT inspiration for October from Crafty Calendar Challenge.  Can you believe we are into October already? I must admit I'm finding it hard to work out where these 10 months have gone!

So onto details for the challenge - this month's theme is 'Autumn Colours / Halloween' and we are sponsored by the wonderful SheepSki Designs, with a prize of some Digi stamps from the store.

I'm very glad this was an Autumn or Halloween theme - I don't really know anyone who makes a big fuss over Halloween, so at least making an Autumn colours card may mean it actually gets used at some point! Rather than disappearing into my rapidly growing pile of 'made, what do I do with now, cards'.

We were very lucky to be allowed to choose an image to use from SheepSki and this is my make with my card:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamp:
SheepSki Designs - Annabell Image No 4
image and scene coloured with my Copics

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangles

Anything else:
Craftwork Cards - messages (for the pre-printed sentiment)
green striped card

So there we go folks, I look forward to seeing all your entries as I whizz around your blogs doing my DT thing. If you are into Halloween, however, please pop over to the challenge blog and have a look at my Teamies cards - they are wonderfully Halloween-y!

Candles and birthdays

Good morning again blogland,

Two posts in one day - it's almost like it's not my blog, eh!  If you've followed the link from Sweet Stampin' you want the post before this.

This time I'm here with my second DT make of the day - it's the first Saturday of a new month and so we have a new challenge from Crafty Calendar Challenge.  This month the theme is a super easy 'Anything Goes' - so as the challenge is open to any crafty project this is a great time to get your entry in!

We also have a fabulous sponsor - Paper Nest Dolls - and a prize on offer for the randomly picked winner of the challenge!

The Design Team were allowed to pick an image to use for this challenge, and this is my make with the digital stamp I chose:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Paper Nest Dolls - Ellie with Candle
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
Creative Craft Products - Funny Sentiments

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangle set

Anything else:
die off-cuts from another project for the hearts

And that's about it folks - my Teamies have made some fabulous cards this month.  Why not pop over and have a look, you won't be disappointed!

See you soon,
Sarah

Where'd the sun go?

Good morning blogland,

Late again, and for two posts this time! I think I can't have set the 'publish on' button right - I really must check my work more thoroughly and not do things in a rush next time!

This means this post and the last are posts without waffles - even though I've been on a holiday since last we spoke. Nothing fancy - just a weeks jaunt to County Durham and Yorkshire but I did have pictures to share. That will have to wait.

Back to what should have been happening in this post.

Hello everyone!

This is my second post for today and this time it's for the new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge. We have a very easy theme for the busy month of August and that is 'Anything Goes', a lovely prize from Hetty Clare of two digital images and wonderful inspiration from my Teamies.

So summer is a season of festivals is it - if so where'd the summer go?! We took TTT to only her second ever concert at the end of June, a George Ezra concert - it was a lovely friendly, family event but my goodness it was cold and it rained! Set the tone for the rest of the summer I think!

Anyway that random piece of information helps with the card I've made - I thought of all those best of friends (young and old) heading off to festivals and outside concerts thinking they're going to have a wonderful time in wonderful weather and then - bam! - it rains and is terrible British weather!

My card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Hetty Clare - Festival Girls
coloured using Copics / scene created using stencils and inks

Rubber stamp:
Neat and Tangled - Together

Dies:
unb-branded stitched rectangle set
Neat and Tangled - Together die set

Anything else:
Polkadoodles - Creative stencils: Grass Lawn and Great Outdoors
Distress Ink
blending brushes

I do hope you have a chance to pop over to the challenge, my Teamies have made some wonderful inspiration and it's a fab prize on offer.

See you again soon,
Sarah
