Hearts and (or) flowers

 Good morning blogland

This is a rather late post for the current challenge over in the Facebook Group for All Dressed Up stamps.

Currently the February challenge is live and - obviously - runs until the end of February so you do have a few days to get an entry in, if you feel like it.

The theme is 'Hearts and/or flowers' and there are really very minimal rules - you do have to join the group, use an ADU digi and follow the theme but that's it.  Also if you do pop in an entry you are in with a chance of winning a lovely ADU digi stamp prize.

At the point this challenge launched I'd had enough of making cards with either red, or love, or any combination of the above and so I made a card concentrating solely on the flowers part of the challenge.

This is what I made:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamp:
All Dressed Up Stamps - Jam Jars with flowers
coloured with my Copics

Rubber Stamp:
PaperRose - Hello 4x6" stamp set
taylored expressions - Simple Strips: Friendship

Dies:
taylored expressions - Simple Strips: asymmetrical
un-branded stitched rectangles

anything else:
spotty card
self-adhesive gems

If you don't 'do' Facebook there's always a challenge going on over at the ADU blog - I'd have to check if it is the same theme, but it will be the same rules, follow the theme and use ADU stamps.  Well worth a look, even if I do say so myself.

And that's it from me for a bit folks, I'll be back but probably not for a week (I think that's when the next challenge is).  I seriously am going to have to think about making a card for no reason - I used to do that, but haven't in ages!

See you soon,
Sarah

Challenge/s:

Krafty Chicks Challenge - CaS (Clean and Simple) week Hello - I'm not actually sure if you would class this as CaS (to me it's more clean lines) so feel free to disregard my entry if it's too busy for you.

Crafty Catz: #707 - Anything Goes

Fab 'n' Funky Challenges: #631 - Dies or Punches

Stash used!

Good morning blogland

It's time for a new challenge over at Passion for Markers and this week it's my turn to pick the theme! First off we are sponsored by Polkadoodles with a great prize for one lucky randomly drawn winner.  To be in with a chance to win it doesn't matter what you make, but you do have to use your markers (whatever brand) and follow the theme.

Aha, I hear you say, but what is the theme you have picked Sarah? Well I thought it can't be too hard for you to 'shop your stash'.  What with it only having been Christmas recently (maybe you treated yourself) then the January Sales (another treat) but then, oh no! it's February and I've no money for craft shopping.

So why not go shopping in what you already have, but haven't used?  So all I would really like you to do is tell us what you pulled out of those deep, dark, crafty drawers and used on your projects.  Here, I'll go first:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamp:
Polkadoodles - Bookworm / study Rebel
coloured with my Copics

Dies:
un-branded rectangle stitched dies
Pretty Pink Posh - Eyelet Borders
PaperRose - Hello Large Layered Die

Paper:
First Edition - New Bloom
black card
stripey card

And how did I shop my stash? Well, the Copics are over 10 years old; the stitched dies are at least 5 years old, as is the Pretty Pink Posh eyelets, but used all the time.  The perfect 'shop your stash' bit is the 'Hello' die - now I brought that at least 2 years ago, but this is the first time it's been out the packet - I am soooo bad!

The paper pack has got to be at least 7 years old, then the black card and black/white stripe card maybe 3 or 4?  Not sure there.

The only new thing on this card is the image - which I was allowed to have as part of Passion for Markers DT.  Not bad, eh!

I really am looking forward to this one - I do hope we get more than 5 entries because I'm truly looking forward to see what people can dig out of their craft stash to see the light of day!

Hope to see you soon,
Sarah

Challenge /s :

Crafty Catz - Anything Goes

Gem of A Craft Challenge - Anything Goes

As You Like It - Cute or Elegant (and why) Hello - long time no see!  I'm finally trying to get back to entering challenges and here I am!  Whilst I do like making elegant cards, more often than not I do Cute.  So I'd have to say Cute - it's who I am!! :-)

Not a challenge

 Hello blogland,

For once this post is not a card made for a challenge, still not made 'just because' but made for the February New Release at All Dressed Up stamps. You can find details of these stamps at both the blog and on the Facebook group and you can purchase them in the Etsy shop

There's always a few stamps released each month and the DT are allowed to pick which stamps they would like to colour up and turn into 'inspiration' cards - I chose Winter Walks.

All the All Dressed Up stamps are always fabulously cute, but this trio of girls really called to me.  I can see them being used for older teens and young women - I could also see shades of TTT and her friends in them.  The leggings (or skinny jeans depending on how you colour them) the beanie hats, furry boots and the scarfs - all things I see either TTT or one of her friends wearing.

Anyways, I liked them so much I ended up colouring two out of the three images!  They are fabulously good value as well, you get the trio of girls and each girl individually - so four images for the price of one.

Finally here's the cards I made:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up Stamps - Winter Walk
both image and background, created freehand, coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
Paper Rose - Hello stamp set
Creative Expressions - 'you' Bold Words die and stamp set

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangle
Creative Expressions - as above for the banner

Second card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
All Dressed Up - Winter Walks
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
Taylored expressions - Simple Strips: birthday

Dies:
Taylored expressions - Simple Strips : well rounded
un branded stitched dies

Anything else:
scraps from various paper packs
red self-adhesive gems
black card for the matt
Copic fine liner for the doodling

Well, I bet that was a surprise - two cards at once!  A lot of the time I can't even manage to find the time to make one card a week!  Just goes to show, how much these digis have taken my fancy.

Maybe I'll even find some time to go link to a challenge or two - if I can remember how, it's been ages since I did that.

I would though encourage you to visit either the blog or Facebook - depending on your preference - and take a look at the other New Release image and the cards Teamies have made.  Both the cards and images are fabulous!

See you soon,
Sarah

Love....

is in the air!

Good morning blogland,

Well, over at Crafty Calendar Challenge it certainly is! The February challenge has gone live and this month the theme is 'Love is in the air' so we are looking for all your romantic makes.

As always there's a great prize on offer for one lucky winner and this month it's from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.  There are only a very few simple rules to enter this challenge and they are to follow the theme, don't backlink and a maximum of 3 entries per person.  Simples!

So here's my 'lovey dovey' card:

Supplies used:

Rubber stamp:
Stamping Bella - Lovey Gnomes
coloured with my Copics

Dies:
Time for Tea - Love You Lots large sentiment die
un-branded stitched rectangle die set

Paper:
First Edition - Up, Up and Away
striped light card

Anything else:
gems for the shaker element

I must confess I don't bother much with Valentines or Halloween or Easter cards and Christmas has so much stress and so many bad memories attached that I don't particularly like making Christmas cards either! In my defence I don't mind other people making a fuss, it's not like I want those celebrations to go away, I just note that they are happening and then I move on.

My goodness, that really makes me sound like a right mardy so and so. Seriously, I promise I'm not - just ask TTT she's forever telling me to get a bit more serious and grow-up!

So that's about it now - just going to add, please pop along and take a look at the fab cards that my Teamies have made, they are fabulous.  Look forward to seeing your card!

See you soon,
Sarah

there's something about

 red!

Good morning blogland,

New Tuesday, new challenge! This week over at Passion for Markers the theme (as you might have guessed) is 'Add some red' and the theme was picked by our lovely Teamie Sue.  Now Sue probably thought, with it being February and Valentines coming up, that her daft Teamies might have gone with Valentines - ummm not entirely and me included. I just thought 'red' ooooh, I like red and didn't give a thought about it being Valentines!

We are sponsored this week by SheepSki Designs, who design the most wonderful digis and this is my make with one of their stamps. As always with the Passion for Markers challenge there is a lovely prize for one lucky winner, badges for another 5 and all you have to do to enter the challenge is use your markers and follow the theme.

Digital stamp:
SheepSki Designs - My Music
coloured with Copics

Rubber stamp:
Woodware Singles - Celebrating You

Dies:
un-branded stitched rectangles
Julie Hickey - Birthday Profile Die Set

And finally:
BoBunny 12x12 paper for the matt
a very old glittery flower
self-adhesive blue sparkle gems

I have to admit to loving colouring this image, and then being stuck on how to finish the actual card off.  That's why it's such a clean lined card - I get stuck on that part of the design process all the time!  I have so many dies and papers and stamps but I look at them and go 'nah, that doesn't work' and then end up just adding a couple of gems and walking away!  I feel some Pinterest or Instagram or Facebook inspiration time is well overdue!! :-)

Anyways, am off again - will be back in a few days.

Love is...

Making a card, or two!

Good morning blogland,

It's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' Challenge where the theme is (as you may have guessed) 'Love'. As always with Sweet Stampin' this is 'for fun' challenge - so no prize - but there is the kudos of being in with a chance of a Top 3 badge/spot.

We have only two rules - stamp (old fashioned rubber or fancy digi) and follow the theme!  Also 'Love' doesn't have to be 'Valentines', it can be any sort of 'love' - family, romantic, friendship, take your pick!

So here's my my Love themed card:

Supplies used:

Digital Stamp:
Pollycraft - Cuthbert Heart
coloured with my Copics
Pollycraft closed up shop many years ago (which was a real shame) so nothing to link to.

Rubber stamp:
A very old sentiment stamp that I masked bits off to use some of the sentiment
(please don't look too closely - it went a fair bit wobbly!)

Dies:
TimeForTea - Love Intertwined Sentiment Die
unbranded stitched rectangle

2026 is still being a bit of a pest so far, won't whinge on but I'll be happy when the equilibrium is restored, oh and I get my blooming car back!

Anyways, there's some lovely cards over at Sweet Stampin' - why not pop over to take a gander and get a card in, if you feel like it.

I will see you again soon,

Sarah
