What's your favourite then?

 Good morning blogland

What a start we've had to 2026 Chez Sarah - so many things gone wrong, but deep breath and motor on, put it all to one side and make this post is all about the new challenge over at Passion for Markers

This week our lovely Teamie Marlene has set the challenge which is 'Favourite colours' and our sponsor - with a great prize for one lucky winner  - is

The DT are very kindly always allowed a digi to use and this is my make with that digi:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
Colour of Love - Wish upon a Star Dreamer
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
taylored expressions: Simple Strips - Birthday

Dies:
unbranded stitched rectangle
taylored expressions: Simple Strips - asymmetrical

And, other than some 3d foam pads, that's it folks!  This time I concentrated on creating a scene (the digi is just the girl on the cloud with stars dotted about), rather than using lots of dies and papers.  I did that mostly because I was running late with this card and I get more enjoyment out of colouring than 'arranging'!

Also, the challenge part of the card - my favourite colours.  I find I tend to go for the purples and greens in my Copics, time after time, sometimes a bit of blue gets thrown in but not always.  Something I do use quite a lot, and is a favourite, is colour my character with red hair, so my favourite colours have evolved as purple, green and red (hair)!

Anyways got to go, got to drive a daughter back to University!

See you soon,
Sarah

More newness

Morning blogland

And with the start of a New Year comes another 1st of January 2026 - the 1st challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge.

So this first challenge of 2026 sees us asking for you to use something 'new' - now that new could be a card for something 'new' - New Year / New Baby / New Job / New Home, etc - or using something 'new' - new craft stash, new piece of craft equipment, it doesn't matter, we just need 'new'.

As always there is only one simple rule to enter - follow the theme, the only other conditions, which are to be fair to all, is that we restrict entries to a maximum of 3 per person and don't allow backlinking.

Finally the prize this month for one lucky winner is from the wonderful Polkadoodles and finally, finally here is my inspiration card:

Supplies used:

Digtial stamp:
Transvectors - Floral Frames (these are an etsy seller
the images are my 'new')

Rubber stamp and die set:
Creative Expressions - Bold Shadowed Sentiments: because

Dies:
un branded stitched rectangle set

I printed the floral frames twice onto white Copic friendly paper, die-cut one set out with my rectangles and coloured the background flowers.  With the other printed image I coloured the front flowers only, then cut them out, popped them onto some foam squares and mounted them onto the matching flowers on the same image that I had previously die-cut. I thought this gave what could be a bit of a simple, or boring, image a bit of a pop! Other than that, the card is self-explanatory - I think.

So am looking forward to seeing what you do with the 'new' theme and, as 2025 has been a bit of a rollercoaster for us - I'm also really hoping 2026 is happier and easier going!

See you soon.

All about the die-cuts

 Good morning blogland

Well routine is well and truly back on the menu and I can't be more pleased! A structured day is much more to my liking than the total chaos of not knowing which day of the week it is!

Whilst talking routine and structure I'm happy to say that the first Passion for Markers challenge of 2026 is here! The details - this week the theme of 'Dies or punches' has been set by my Teamie Marie and the sponsor for this challenge is the wonderful The Paper Shelter with a lovely prize for one lucky winner.

So onto my card - as always The Paper Shelter allows the Design Team a digi to use and this is my make with that digi:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
The Paper Shelter - Daises on my Hat
coloured with Copics

Rubber stamp:
taylored expressions - It's Your Day stamp set

Paper:
Making Memories - Boho Chic

Dies:
Creative Expressions - Noble Collection: Double Stitched Squares
My Favorite Things - Inside & Out Circles
un-branded stitched tag die
Memory Box - Riviera Corner

Anything else:
Yellow striped light card
MDF flower
self-adhesive pearl

As always the rules for this challenge are very simple - follow the theme and use your markers, it can be any brand of marker (Copics are my choice) but you do have to use markers somewhere/somehow.

So there you go, hopefully I've given you some sort of inspiration and, if you want more, please pop on over to the challenge and take a look at my Teamies cards which are fabulous!

See you again soon,
Sarah

With a New Year finally here

We start the New Year with a bang - two new challenges!

So to kick things off here's my card for the new Sweet Stampin' Challenge, as it's New Year we'd like to see your 'new' theme cards.  So that could be a card for a new home / baby / job / year or how about some new stash?

Not needing a card for any 'new' reason - I went with the new craft supplies theme.  This is what I've made:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
DigitalLenaStamp (an etsy seller) - Peeking cats
my 'new' part of the challenge

Rubber stamp:
taylored expressions: Simple Strips - Man, Myth, Legend

Dies:
taylored expressions: Simple Strips - Well Rounded
unbranded stitched rectangle
Whimsy Stamps: OMG! word die set

This is super easy challenge to take part in - there are only two rules which are follow the theme and use a stamp (digital or rubber) and that's it!

Would be great to see your entry and your take on 'new'.

Sarah
