Hip to be square

Good morning blogland

It's a Tuesday and so time for Team 1's turn over at Passion for Markers.  This week it's our Teamie Marlene's turn to choose the theme and she's picked 'Square cards' which, I think, is a wonderful theme!

Our sponsor is LeAnn's World 101 with a lovely prize for one lucky winner and, for the Design Team, a digi or two to use on our inspiration cards.

As always please remember this is a marker challenge and, to be in for a chance at the randomly drawn prize, you must remember to follow the theme and use your markers.  So, without further ado, here's my card:

Supplies used:

Digital stamp:
LeAnn's World 101 - Azalea's New Dress
coloured with my Copics

Rubber stamp:
taylored expressions - Simple Strips: Background

Dies:
taylored expressions - Simple Strips: Well Rounded
Creative Expressions - Noble Collection: Double Stitched Squares
Whimsy Stamps Die collection - OMG! Word Set

Papers:
BoBunny - Smoochable
striped card

Anything else:
self-adhesive gems

Square cards eh, well that took me right back to the beginning of my card making days!  I started off, as I'm sure some of you did, with the tiny little cards that I think are what the American A2 card sizes are and very quickly found bigger square cards!  I do know now that you can do some very pretty but simple designs on those smaller cards - and I do love my topfold 5x6 cards -, but square cards were 'it' for a very long time!

Anyways, coming out of memory lane, I'm looking forward to see what you all make for this challenge.

Sentimentally yours

This is not what this post was meant to look like!  For some reason (I should really face up to things here and say it was more than probably me not putting the dates in right!) Blogger decided not to post this when it should have - so I am so, so, so late with this. However, you do still have just under a week to get an entry in - and to be honest so few people come to my blog now that me being late probably didn't make much of a difference!

Hello blogland,

It's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' and this fortnight the theme is 'Feature a Sentiment'.  As always please remember this is a stamping challenge and so your entry does need to have some stamping (old fashioned rubber or modern digital) on it somewhere.

Here's my card:

Supplies used:

Stamp:
Catherine Pooler - Everybody Say Happy sentiment stamp set

Dies:
Creative Craft Products - DL card builder set
Spellbinders Nestabilities - Labels Two
Pretty Pink Posh - Scalloped Borders 2

Stencil:
Creative Expressions - DL Stencils: Party Confetti

Anything else:
Polkadoodles - Stencil Butter Frosting: Sunbeam Shimmer
sequins

Paper:
First Edition - Let's Celebrate

And that's it folks - not actually sure that I like this card, I feel something didn't work right but I can't put my finger on just what's wrong.  Maybe I should have used black card for the stencil paste - it doesn't show so well on the picture but in real-life it's very pretty.

Anyways off again now, see you soon.

Sarah

Halloween

 Morning blogland,

It's the start of a new month and so the start of a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge and, as you may have guessed from the title of the post, as it's October the theme this month is 'Halloween'.

We have the wonderful Lili of the Valley as our sponsor, with a prize for one lucky random winner.  To be in with the chance of winning, or being picked as our Top 3, you just need to follow the theme - we don't have any rules about what you can create but you must follow the theme.  The only restriction we have is a maximum of 3 entries per person.

Here's my card:

Supplies used:

Digital image:
etsy seller - PawsLetters
It's a pre-coloured image from a set called 'Witches in Black'
I also created the sentiment in Publisher

Dies:
Spellbinders: Nestabilities - Decorative Labels Eight
My Favorite Things - Fishtail Foundations
Creative Expressions - Noble Collection: Stitched Squares
Creative Expressions - Noble Collection: Stitched Rectangles

Paper:
BoBunny - Weekend Market Collection

Anything else:
Heavy black card for the card base
light black card

And that's it folks, we don't 'do' Halloween in our house and so this card will probably go to one of the TTT's friends who is more into the whole 'spooky season' thing.

Hope everyone is well.

Sarah
